I've been away from the game about 20 days due to vacation and kids playing sports. I had issues with FPS after the April 2nd patch. I log on today and update patch and it's even worse from before. Some maps I was pushing 35 to 38 FPS. My first match today, that same very map I got great FPS rates for my laptop, is now running 14 to 18 FPS. I'm sorry, but this painful when I literally went out and bought a new computer in March to get a bit better game play out of MWO that I could afford. Now the game is running as poorly as my 2 year old desk top. My desk top no longer runs it since the April 2nd patch. I hope this matter is resolved as soon as it can. I'm not a free loader on this game, I've spent a bit more cash then I care to mention on this game because I truly love it and all it's about, but every 4 to 6 weeks there comes out a new patch and my FPS rates are continuing to drop, I may have to find something else to play. Please MWO, figure this issue out!!!

Installed the latest (small) patch today. Game remains unplayable due to low FPS.

Ran the new repair program - no effect.

It's been a month now since the game was screwed up - doesn't look like there's any effort being made to fix things, either.

Which is a doggone shame.

FPS improved slightly (2-3 units) with the latest patch, but it is still borderline unplayable.

Also, HUD bugs are more frequent now. I have them in one out of three matches, compared to one out of eight before.

Hmmmmm.... About the FPS drops....
The answer is obvious. Ever since the vision modes changes, they meddle with the distance where a mech is visible.

Eg. Beore you could never see the enemy mechs on lower enemy base in Alpine on low settings from the I9 hill.
Mech previously phase out of view at 1050 meters.
Now you can even on low settings you can see them all the way at lower enemy base.

This change affects lower performance pc ofcourse.

Still unplayable due to low FPS. Let me just say this - what the f*ck are these guys doing? I mean really, what the f*ck? Why are they not fixing an issue that prevents people from playing their game altogether. I wouldn't mind some rubberbanding, hud issues, etc. if I could at least play and have good games here and there.
I'm not surprised at all that only one of our 8 man group, that used to be very active, is still playing somewhat regularly, others have quit altogether or are playing only once a week or two. I didn't put huge amounts of money into this game (luckily) but still, I bought little something and now I can't get anything out of it.
I understand PGI doesn't have huge resources and that you can't put art and graphics guys to fix issues with code, etc. but I think they really should temporarily layoff those guys that can't help in this situation and use that money to hire more guys to fix the bugs, so that the game would be playable again. After that would be done, they could hire all art, graphics and whatnot guys they want, to make some hot new content and eye candy. You know, first things first - that's how it should be, but devs just have really lost their way.

High Ping? Low Frames? Tell us about it here!

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:

1. Until yesterday (May 6, I have had no FPS issues). Yesterday, at approximately 5pm CST (Minnesota) my FPS dropped to below 10. Always.
2. Nothing specific, other than always.
3. I play on a laptop. Stock Alienware M15x. Over 1300 matches logged, never (that I can recall) having any FPS issues. I even played via wifi until I plugged in last night. I am not graphics savvy and have done nothing (other than check drivers and update if necessary) since my first drop.
4. My FPS love sitting between 5 and 9. Mechbay is somewhere around 6-8.
5.I will try to do this right:
Spoiler
[ /spoiler]
Did I do it right? (I definitely did NOT do it right. That said, I'm not smart enough apparently to make it work right. Feel free to explain this to me. Ok, something worked.)
6. Using speedtest.net I achieve the following:
From a point in MN to a point in SoCal,
ping: 145
D/L: 21.96 max
U/L: 2.88 max

My own order of fix attempts:
Restart client. No fix. Did this several times.
Restart computer. No fix. Did this a couple times.
Run repair tool. No fix. Did this two (or three?) times.
Restart comp and modem. No fix. Did this twice.
Restart comp and modem, hard wire internet. Did this once.
Reinstall game. No fix. Did this once.
Called ISP. They gave green light. No fix.
Shut off firewall. Saw 2-4fps improvement. Still not playable at a max of 12fps.

I have not yet called my isp. I like to be specific with my requests when dealing with an ISP over the phone and I have no idea what I would ask of them. I would give them the benefit of the doubt in knowing some things to try but previous experience does not produce consistent results.

PS- HELP! thank you.
