Stability seems to have improved from the time I first logged in on the 21st. I would like to say great job there. Also I had to reinstall my vidio drivers due to a corrupted file I found on my end that may have contributed to my crashes.

I dont normally post unless it gets really bad, im playing on a low spec machine

3.0 ghz dual core
4 GB ram
630 gt nvidia

Im playing on 720 resolution with textures, particles, post AA, effects and object detail on very high, and before the last 2 patches in the mech bay i had 35-37 fps and in game was 25-35 which is fine for me, sometimes i could reach 40+ when there was less mechs on the field, but now the mech bay is at 27-33 and in game is like 15-20 and its very choppy, i dont know what happened but im having a hard time hitting targets and my K/D has taken a hit...I hope that it will get better as the next patches come out...

3570K
SLI GTX275
3072x768 (down from native 3840x1024). Compared to before last week the framerate I get now at 3072x768 is what I used to get at 3840x1024.

Everything on Low, except Object Detail on High, Texture+Shadow on Medium.

The last week or two I've taken a 30-50% FPS hit.
I used to get 55-65FPS on most maps. Around 60-75 on Tourmaline and Apline.

Since last week I don't get over 60FPS anywhere except the wide open on Alpine. Even with everything on low. I now get 30-45, and 40-60 on Tourmaline/Alpine.

I run MSI Afterburner while gaming to monitor GPU stats.
Top data set is FPS, max of 60FPS(>60 on the yellow lines), each 'blip' in the lower sets is an MWO match.

How had the patch generally affected your performance?

This is the first patch where I have had any problems, as far as performance in ten games where I might get one crash I now have about 1 in 3.

Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.

all crashes occurred at the start of the game or very near the start.

What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?

no all video settings are same as last time and have checked for an update.

Performance is impossible to follow. gets better on one map, worse on another. Frame rate is inconsistent between one game and another.
I overclocked my PC and could not figure out which parameter has an effect of preformance, be it FSB, CPU or Memory speed.

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
It's dropped the frame range to 4-10.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
The rate drops more when new information is displayed, like an enemy mech is sighted.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
After starting the game up after patch, I dropped them down to minimum and tried the lowest 3 resolution settings, windowed and fullscreen
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)

dropped into a couple of games the day before yesterday...framerate seems to be stable, but I still get booted back to mechlab every now and then...annoying, especially when you are engaged with the enemy and all of the sudden your screen turns black and you find yourself in the lab again.

I never used to get booted but now I do. I'm simply gonna wait for this game to be playable before I do anything else with it. Guess I can play some shogun 2 and bioshock infinit.

What a pity. They should just pull the plug and fix all of these issues and when the game is stable and more complete reactivate it. I know most would disagree but this is the most unstable and disappointing mech game I've ever played.

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
The patch only resolved some firing delay from ballistics, otherwise, the high number of commands that are lost between my client and the server is abnormally high, similarly to the post march 2nd patch issues I also had. (Shots, turn and aiming commands are lost constantly, resulting in a very twitchy game that often causes my weapons to deal zero damage or simply not fire.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
While I have noticed the issues on every map, Alpine and Tourmaline perform much more smoothly than any other maps, with forest colony (regular) being the only other semi-functional map. The rest are a plethora of bugs, packet loss and extreme FPS drops.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
My video setting are all on the absolute lowest. Previously, I was running in 1280x with medium setting and getting amicable performance, now I run barebones and get choppy, unresponsive gameplay.
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)
Previously 25-30fps. Since the patch, 5-10.
  • System specs (You can include them in a [spoiler] [ /spoiler])
E5300 dual-core 2.60
Nvidia GT220
8GB RAM
  • Your advertised internet connection speed / Geographic location
Cox high-speed cable / CenCal

---

A fix would be great, as I havn't really been able to enjoy the game for almost a month now. I spent $35 on a Heavy Metal I have yet to really get to play realistically. It's all choppiness and trying to aim reticules through jello.

I noticed increased rubberbanding and hit detection errors. Once I was running in a straight line with no mechs around then suddenly found myself facing a wall in the opposite direction.

WHAT'S CAUSING THE FPS DROP SINCE APRIL 2 PATCH?

The answer just occurred to me. Smoke from damaged mechs. Smoke from damaged mechs is what's causing the fps drop. I observed this in "testing grounds". Fps was 17 initially, and after I shot up the first mech and it started smoking fps dropped to 9-11. Then, as I approached the smoke, my fps dropped further and further. Fps was lowest initially when the smoke started coming out (then rises after that initial drop), or when the smoke fills my viewing area. Then experimentally, I shot up another mech within visibility, and observed that having 2 mechs smoking in front of me reduced the fps even further. Then I turned away from the smoke, and experienced a rise in fps.

So I reckon the processing of the smoke is one of the causes of the drop in fps since April 2. However, it's probably not the only cause, I think fps has generally become much lower since April 2.

Please look into this, I really want to play MWO again since the April 2 patch ruined my fps.

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
Frame rate from April 2nd patch still killing frame rates. 20+ pre-patch throughout the entire match.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
Seems to be when their is some kind of explosion effect, ie...arm severed, ppc or large ballistic hit on a mech in my view. Game goes from 20fps to 5-10 for remainder of match.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
Lowest full screen resolution. Haven't changed them.
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)
Previously 20-25fps. Since the patch, 5-10.

The clipping and lag is getting to be unplayable. I went thru three games in a row and had the same issues, targeting is bad when a mech skips in front of you right when you fire and of course its a miss. My ping has always been in the 40s is not sitting at 188 and I have changed nothing and no change from other games.

Disconnects, game shutting off and freezing seem to be at an all time high this weekend. Has it we just had a very high volume of play?

Don't have time to get into all my system specs and framerates, but I have previously been able to play with good framerates with most settings on low and textures on medium.

Since around the time of the last hotfix, the game is virtually unplayable for me due to super-low FPS. I have never experienced this issue before; normally my FPS gets a little better with each patch. No change to system or game settings, but now I basically can't play anymore due to extreme FPS drop. My ping is always in 40-50 range.

I am playing on a laptop with a separate GPU.

Also, noticed it is especially bad on frozen-city. I have seen a lot of texture and fogging issues on that map lately as well.

Actually last few weeks things have gone to more or less acceptable. But tonight, right after the server problems, the FPS just dropped out the bottom again. I've knocked everything down to lowest possible, and when the game start it goes to oh, 50, 60 FPS. But any time there's action the FPS drops incredibly low, into the single digits.

So first, what was applied to the server before the problems, and what is now missing?

Two, I'm concerned that the network is affecting game performance. Can we get an update?

Smoke could be ONE of the causes, but I don't think it's the only one since my fps is bad any time there is a mech within my visual field. And not visual field as in I can see it, but the 90 degree area in front of me, from my location to the other end of the map regardless of any obstructions.
