Player controlled combined arms. Id like to see your 6 PPC stalker or poptarting highlander dispatch an infantry batallion or several small tanks lighting you up. Problem solved. More fun for everyone. Discuss.

I want to say **** yeah but i need clarification: Do you mean I am controlling the tank directly or I tell the tank where to go? Because I think the later would be much cooler.

I imagine the last thing an infantryman wants to do is advance on 6 beams of electromagnetic death...

Only way to really stop the High alpha boating, 6LL or 6PPC builds is to make heat work like it's suppose to. HS and DHS aren't suppose to raise your mechs heat cap.

Bluff called.

You're looking at someone who could snipe BattleArmor with ER PPCs out to 900 meters in MWLL with cockpit shake even (its not as effective as you all might think). And well tanks aren't nearly as effective as you think. Better at staying behind low cover, but thats about it.

Funniest thing is seeing a jump sniper jump into an Aerospace Fighter. Most effective way to counter air in fact was to jump into it or away from it.

I don't think combined arms are going to give you the results you wish.

Now Longtoms.. those worked. They are also very much complained about in MWLL lol.

Turn one of the PPCs into a Flamer. No more infantry.

This the final solution to poptarting:

105-point alpha on your face from above, with splash damage. Your precious hills shall not save you now, muhahahaha!

Seems complex. Why don't we just lower the heat cap instead. Raise dispersion to compensate.

Yeah, TT heat scale. 30 heat max.

I think PGI needs to add some very high gravity maps to help balance against excessive jump-sniping. Of course a map check system would need to be added to make sure jump-snipers don't cheat by pulling the map file.

The ultimate solution to it would be to have in TT heat scale and effects. Naw it's too logical and easy to implement to make this a true BT sim, but that's not what they want with their CoD mech clone.

I don't care what the solution is all I know is myself and everyone I play with find the game completely unenjoyable at the moment and 3 times we have played this week we have stopped after and hour because it is the opposite of fun.

TT is 30 heat plus your heat dissipation. A daishi for example can generate 69 heat in a turn before automatic shutdown. It already sort of works like that in MWO. The more heatsinks you have, the more weapons you can fire before hitting 100%.

thought it worked like you get heat THEN it dissipates not it dissipates heat AS you get it

and if it doesnt work like that, make it work like that.
You dont start dissipating till you generate heat. So that high alpha will top you into shutdown no matter how many heatsinks you have.
