I regularly play 10-15 rounds plus mechlab tweaking per evening with no heat issues with my laptop. After downloading the new patch and playing 2 rounds my laptop was so hot that I could no longer touch my keyboard. This is no exageration, I was in my 3rd round and had to type a quick "I'm out" warning before leaving as I noticed the heat through my keys. I shut down the game and tested som other games like BF3 an Planetside 2 and didn't have an issue.

With how fast and how hot my PC got in such a short time, I don't feel comfortable even turning on the game for risk of damaging my PC.

Edit: I did send in a support ticket for this as well.

MWO has always had some problems with "burning" the PC. even in the mechlab my GPU fan goes crazy to deal with load.

Keeping a computer cool is pretty easy, even when under high load.

1: Keep it clean
2: Make sure cooler air can get in, and that warmer air is expelled out.
3: Keep air obstructions out of the way.

I know its a laptop you are talking about, but it applies to both desktop and laptop. Clean is important, some laptops offer fan control while others do not, if yours does I recomend setting the fans to a higher setting, another posability is that the thermal interface is getting dry which can result in sub optimal performance.

Examples

You will note, all of the wires are tucked out the way, and there is nothing blocking the air from moving though the case. This is key to obtaining ideal temperatures.

Or Buy a box fan and pull both sides off the case and let it freeball.

Laptops on the other hand, well there's just no hope for you.

v-sync, turn it on. Press f9 for fps, if you are below 60fps dont bother with it.
