Any idea what this is. I've been playing since early closed beta and now all the sudden I can't launch the game and get this error. Says I need the "appropriate version".

matux deserves a fresh infusion of MCs into his account.

For the record, I have everything on autoupdate and as of today, did not have an acceptable version of net framework for MWO as of today. While I'm too lazy to find the reasons for the suddenly out of date net fame version, Matux offered a simple and easy fix.

I tried re-installing the .NET v.4 framework. It won't allow me to do so.
I did a repair of .NET v4.5 and MWO is still not working for me.

Any help in this matter is appreciated. I seem to have this problem with a lot of games.

Ilmari: If you have Windows Live installed, reinstall/repair it. Sometimes, a Windows Live runtime gets corrupted, and for some reason, what gets corrupted is a file that affects many other internet-related connections from third party publishers.

Why does MWO require framework 4 now? Didn't before, now it does. I seen an increase of memory consumption with framework 4 and therefore removed it year or two ago. I also don't have anything that requires it to run, except MWO. I've since stopped playing MWO temporarily as it's the only game that's ever required to use it that I know of.

IIRC, it's for the frontend (the thing that tells you that you need to patch the game).
