I am a new player, but something has me confused.

How exactly, even in a trial mech, can I point blank shoot someone in the fave from 50m with 2 large lasers twice, all 4 solid hits, yet only do 13 damage?

Enlighten me please, before i reconsider this game....I experience similar issues on other weapon strikes as well.

Thanks.

Lasers spread damage around over the whole time the beam is on, so its possible that you're doing less than the max with the lasers if they shift off the target mid-shot.

Wow, match number 3.

I hit a Jager 3 times in his leg with large lasers....5 points total damage..yeah, this makes total sense.

The entire damage model for this and any MW games has always been unrealistic. Hence why its a game. There is no way you could ALPHA strike if these things were real and not destroy whichever Mech you were shooting at. The different damage zones of the mechs in game have something to do with this, but overall realistic damage has to be mitigated by game playability.

Do us a favor and record a game and then post it. Otherwise, who knows what actually happened in-game.

You have to hold the laser on the target and get the full burn duration to get max damage.

Simply hitting the target will produce low damage numbers if you are not able to keep it on target the whole time.

Honestly though, the only way to get the correct answer is to you in game video of it happening.

You probably missed and didnt even know it. The headpoints are hard to hit, let alone keep on target with a laser beam. I am thankful because a while back there were some mechs that if you saw you knew you could kill first because the hitbox was so big on the head it was easy to hit.
Just keep practicing.

Lasers require you to hold them on target for the duration of the beam for full damage (.75 seconds, or 1 full second). Otherwise, you are doing partial damage. And, how did you come up with 13 damage? I can't tell how much damage I did unless I only did 13 damage the whole game. MW4:Mercs was easy to test things in Team Battle because you could tell exactly how much damage you did per shot/alpha because it was on the scoreboard in real time. Wish they would do that in MWO.

You're missing a descriptive thread title, yes.
