if you want the game on a laptop you need something with a really beefy GPU. i7 processors are common enough on many consumer laptops, but they always skimp on the GPU. Your only 3 real good options are the Asus gaming laptops, Alienware, both of which are pretty expensive or probably your best option, get a Clevo/Sager from a boutique re-seller They are not insane expensive and you can get a top tier high end mobile GPU in them.

MWO is optimized for NVIDIA cards, ATI Cards have their problems.

^^I have a machine that is fine with a Radeon, no issues at all.

The issue is, a 7730m is a terrible card to go gaming on, i7 or not.

Why people use those thin little objects that have inferior processing power and heat efficiency, is beyond me.

You have to work on naming the cards, you're mixing desktop and notebook ones all around...

7850 desktop can run this game maxed out, oc'd its around a gtx580.

the 7730 can run the game on maxed out settings doesnt mean it's playable.....

and yes the 7850 can run the game at 30-50 fps with maxed out settings but some refuse to play at anything below 60.
a 7850m as i was talking about laptop cards would be the lowest one you would need to get decent playable framerates on this game at "decent" settings sorry if that confused you so much chavette. i even provided a complete gpu hierchy chart in that link.

Well< i would never replace my desktop (for one thing, can't really haul a 47 inch monitor with a laptop), BUT, I do use my Laptop if I have to be out of town for lengths of time, and don't wanna give up my addiction.

And my laptop disagrees with this... Avoid Alienware if you can, too many horror stories and not enough value for the name and price. Asus are ok but have been known to have issues. Sager produce very nice laptops that you can get for a good price from many builders. My MSI runs this at max graphics settings (with resolution a little over halfway up) at good frames. XoticPC built mine for around $1300 with a 570m in it.

I can understand that, but using it as the primary gaming rig? It just... wha? XD

Because I can run it in any room of the house including on the living room couch and in bed, can hook it up to a large flat screen and transport it if I must to get some games in away from home. It would drive me berserk to be tethered to a desktop full time.

Alienware is the definition of paying for name. Overpriced, and overrated. I have never been impressed. Those Sagers seem worth every dang penny though. I wish I had had time to get one before I had went on vacation. 1200 bucks gets you a LOT of Laptop.

You forgot the "m" markings from the end of the numbers. The link and the cards contained all have their respective markings where appropriate.

Again.. I can game Max setting, 1080p, 50+ FPS .. and I can do it in any room I want. What seems to be the problem again?

Advice to the OP was decrease resolution and see if that works first. If not they either need an upgrade, or must wait for graphics optimizations.

Some guys here are really out of reality, I have a notebook because I need a notebook, not a desktop.

Exchanging my 2013 low-mid range (U$1.000,00) notebook is not an option to play this game.

I can play War Thunder and World of Tanks in a lot better resolution and settings, so something is wrong with MWO. Remember, I have decreased everything on settings to minimal or removed if possible.

Also 20 fps is the maximum I get, not the average, so it is less than playable.

1) Your laptop i7 is likely dual core and MWO does NOT run well on dual core devices. You could try turning on hyper-threading in the BIOS (it is often off by default) and see if that will make a difference.

2) The 7730 GPU is almost as low performance as you can get for mobile discrete graphics.

Both these reasons will contribute to poor performance in MWO ... and it isn't the developers fault ... if you want high quality graphics with high polygon counts then it requires a certain minimum in both CPU and GPU to run well.

... that said there are probably some optimizations they could do to make it run better but I am not sure it will ever run well unless they create special low-res models and textures for low-end performance systems which will then look much much worse ...

I have not found this to be the case (I have an AMD card and the game runs fine). NVIDIA is sponsoring the game so they get a splash screen but I haven't seen anything that would indicate the performance is implicitly better on NVIDIA hardware than AMD.

There's something else going on.
I'd backup and re-install your OS on a fresh format.

Patch and driver up. For all that his holy, use the white pages service pack before you go on the internet.

Install MWO:Mercs

If it's not working after that, it's the game or hardware.

Sorry dude, Nuke and pave is the only way to eliminate a variable.
