Since last patch I've played a couple of games and you see the same kind of problem that was existing before.

Team full of Assaults and Heavies, against lights, mediums, couple of heavies...

Team mostly with new guys (or just really bad players) going against premades or people much more experienced.

Seriously, I am starting to be fed up with PGI.

I keep playing with the hope that things will get better, but in my own humble opinion it's either on idle, or getting worse.

Elo is one aspect of the game with problems, but there are a lot more.

Elo only changes a few points at a time. We'll probably have to play for 1-2weeks untill everyone gets enough games in to stabilize the Elo pool. The inflated values made the previous ELO scores, and everything BASED on the borked algorithm, almost completely useless.

I'd highly suggest reading the command chair posts, This one in particular where Omid clearly states that there is no weightmatching untill tomorrow.

On Thursday, April 18th (tentative date), we'll drop the weight matching tolerance to zero. This won't require a patch or an interruption of service.

You're confusing Elo with weight matchmaking.

Elo decides what players you get dropped with, not what mechs they are in. Weight balanced drops are still coming & will be a bit wonky for a while as it sounded like PGI wanted to try a few different points to balance weight at (+/- 10%, zero tolerance, +/-25%, etc.)

If you're going to whine about something, at least title your post correctly.

ELO isn't inherently the problem. There are other things that are impacting your gameplay when to comes to match making, like so:

Sync dropping: the act of groups of people larger than four attempting to queue at the same time to get into the same match. Group queues alter the ELO for the group, and can place you in matches with players that are statistically superior to you.

Placement Matches: ELO has a system where when you are first added to the queue, a number of your matches are used to place you into the bell curve more accurately. This is generally caused by your first 10 (maybe more) matches giving you larger ELO gain and loss. This works because if you win a bunch, and get placed way too high, you'll lose and settle. If you lose a bunch, you start winning repeatedly and settle.

My guess is you're somewhere either at the front or the back of the top of the bell curve for the game. You'll get plenty of good matches, but some games you get people in their placement matches.

I'm solo pugging, and during high usage times (9pm to 11 pm), I am getting somewhere around 5/1 Win/Loss ratio on a mech I have more than 50 games in a row on (75 games total, as well as highly positive win/loss ratiors for all other mechs of that class). Something is wrong with how it actually populates teams.

I'm actually a lot less concerned with tonnage than I am with skill unless it is hugely imbalanced. I've actually had several games, where my team was out-massed by well over 100 tons, and we slaughtered the enemy (especially on conquest, because the lights force them to split up on the larger maps).
