I really don't want to see groups broken up in any way under the lance system. If I drop in a group of 2, 3 or 4 my primary responsibility is working with the members of my pre-made group to get the win for the team. The current lance system with lancemate locations makes things a bit easier and this system should also help lone-wolf players stick together a bit better.

As long as pre-made groups remain in the same lance I'm fine with the system.

If someone decides to take command and their commands are logical that's cool, there's a good chance the commands will be compatible with what my pre-made group is doing. If some clueless player takes command there's a good chance I'm going to ignore them and let them be the distraction while my pre-made group caps or flanks for easy kills.

Wisdom! B)

Who knew it would be so difficult

to be forward thinking?

It is like people have never played

the TT and so don't understand

this game or something...

Um....

Last time I checked

the entire team

either won or lost...

Or are you complaining

about some arbitrary person

whom you do not know

designating themselves as commander

and deciding how to arrange the team?

If you are in a 4 man group prior to dropping...

Then that's your lance.

He has a point Willie. If I drop with Murphy's we work together on TS, can coordinate better than silent PUGs. Possibly even better than typing PUGs. Breaking up a 4 man will not work, we will just group together in spite of the in game commanders wishes. One its a communication thing and the other its a loyalty thing.

Yes, that's my only complaint about some random commander splitting up pre-made groups. As long as this isn't possible I don't see any issues.

I'm in TS with the other 1, 2 or 3 members of my group so it's not going to help the team any if some random player grabs commander position and splits up my group because I'm still going to be working together with the others in TS.

No I totally get that aspect of it.

But it is possible to tell the commander

before the game starts of your 4 man.

Ideally, everybody should be dropping

as a premade team

but that can be difficult.

So...putting slow *** mechs with a fast scout is bad lance makeup?

Sort of the definition of bad lance makeup...

Lances are pretty failed attempt anyway in pug's. I tried to play as the "lance commander" couple of times, most people don't follow your orders and just go off on their own way. And if you are in a premade, you are already in TS. Nice attempt pgi, but how about you add ingame VOIP instead if you want some better team coordination.

If you can't get them to walk to the symbol that magically appeared on their compass/minimap how is asking them to walk to it going to be more effective?
