And why?

I have not tried the Heavy Metal (just doesn't interest me, honestly didn't expect the Highlander to at all, either). The 732 didn't interest me. So I bought all 3 version of the 733.

I THOUGHT the HGN-733C was my ride. Oddly, when I checked my stats, I have not only played more matches in the P, but my stats are markedly better. In fact, I am running better statistically in the HGN-733P than in ANY other mech I have stats for.

I run mine with DHS, Max Armor, 325XL, 2 ERPPC, 2 Medium Laser and 3 SRM6. Snipes and Jump Snipes well, and as I close it just gets more vicious. So, Guess that's my new ride.

You?

I have all 5 highlander variants. No idea why really, but I had the cbills to burn and I got the heavy metal pretty much the day it came out (I have been waiting for the highlander for a long time). Out of them, I have to say I enjoy the 733P the most. While it lacks the ballistics of the other variants, 4 large lasers and srms can really mess up a target in a brawl.

Played some of the regular highlanders, but didn't like them nearly as much as my heavy metal. I love this thing for brawling: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...bd83696ef72beb5

733C, max armour, 325xl, 1 LRM20 and 1 LRM5 w/ artemis, 2 MPLs, and I switch between 2 UAC5s, an AC/20 or a gauss in the right arm depending on how I feel. It's working pretty well for me. LRMs help finish the poptarts as they retreat behind the hills, the 325 gives me the flanking speed, the MPLs help pick off light's legs and the ballistics are there for the big hitting.

I have taken to counting the number of Highlanders on my team, then crying "There can be only X", where X is the number of highlanders on my team. because "THERE CAN BE ONLY 7" is a wonderful irony.

Went with the 732 733 733C. Really enjoy playing all of them:) The ac20 makes me happy! I need multiple choice to answer the poll though.

I am probably gonna buy the 732 too, just because but truth to tell, don't see me spending that much for Heavy Metal.

Heavy Metal all the way for me, but I didn't get the 733P. Given a second chance I probably would and would probably compete with my Pink Monster.

The heavy medal is kinda superfluous Unless you are dying to have those arm mounted lasers, the 732,733, 733C can pretty much do the same thing.

Well, I have roughly the same KDR in both my 733C and 733P, my Heavy Metal is a good deal higher, but I haven't played it since the Elo change, so I think that's the reason why.

I have to say the 733P is my least favorite at the moment, as I refuse to run it as a PPC boat and it thus lacks the high point damage so important for assaults to have these days.

The HM I like for brawling, and the 733C is a nasty midrange fighter with AC/20 and 2 PPCs.

I purchased the Heavy Metal when it came out. Now that the other variants are out I am looking to get two more to start on the Master train. I bought the 733C so far and looking to get a thrid still, have not decided over the 732 or the 733P. In the current setup, my 733C:

2x SRM6 in the LT
1x LRM15 in the LA
1x AC/20 in the RA
2c ML in the RT

So only have the LRM15 for long range to soften up what I can and hope to close to brawl.

I only have one variant ATM -- the 733C.

Dual UAC5, TAG, PPC, Triple SSRM2. STD engine so I wont die in 3 seconds like the "other" builds.

So far so good.

Arm mounted energy means pinpoint accuracy easy for aiming up high and down low. Lots of jump jets gives multiple benefits. Increased Cbill earning is boss. It plays music, granted not great music, when you kill people.

Everything done by the other Highlanders seems to me equal at best, if not worse, accept for maybe the 733P and 732 due to the higher alphas if you lock the reticule and don't have to worry about convergence.

Personally I find arm mounted dual UAC5 an absolute blast, something Heavy Metal had failed to provide me.

The question: Is that worth 30$ at this point? When it was the only highlander, I thought it was. Now, I am not so sure.

I agree on the U/ACs, however the gawds of meching have decided that whenever I shoot at something my U/AC will jam unless it is a tree, rock, or water. I line up across from an Atlas and its bang-bang-click. I'll take my Gauss everyday over that.

As for the $30.00 I'd say it was. I love driving it for the immersion. It fits my play style well as I love jump jets. It has an exceptionally flexible hard point load out. I wouldn't say it's so much better than the other variants that you must get it, but I don't regret getting it at all. Its the only Hero Mech I own, and by far is the most played mech I own. Which says a lot considering how many different mechs I have mastered.

gotta admit, still kinda not getting the point of non jumping Highlanders. Can't the Atlas RS do the same load out, but better?

Admittedly, sometimes there are quirks that make up for it, or you might just like a chassis better, and since I don't drive atlases, I really wouldn't know. Just find the JJs make the mech for me, and I am generally not a jumper.

Don't think of it as a Highlander. Think if it as an Akuma or a Cyclops!

Highlander not as wide as an Atlas. Also, for me it looks cooler than an Atlas, it's just my personal preference. My Barbarian Warrior's name in EQ was Highlander, not for the movie but for the mech.
