I've been playing a lot of tabletop recently through MekWars/MegaMek in the MekWars Forever campaign. My inner sphere force has been relying primarily on ARC-4Ms mixed with THG-11Es to punch holes and WVR-7Ks to flank.

Mechwarrior 3 saw me win with a thor or bushwacker. although when i was in the mood i would just load a puma with erppcs and full unload disabling my heat management system always loved going out with a bang in an enemys face left them open for a easy kill too :}

Marauder 2 (even though its definitely not my favorite 'Mech)

From now on I will be using the Dragon for my mech. ;)

I didn't play much MW3 at all, and quite frankly MW4 was mostly "load-up-the-assault-with-everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" style of play, which I've never been a fan of. So most of my action came in the Kali days of MW2:Mercs, with either the Summoner (which ruled for the JJ Slide action btw) or surprisingly (to most) the Jenner. Tough light classer that could leg the crap out of just about any assault mech out there while running circles around them! :(

MW3: Bushwacker
MW4: Daishi (Vengeance); Ryoken (Black Knight); Shadow Cat (Mercenaries); Gesu (MekPaks)
MA1: Kit Fox (DM) ; Hackman (CTF)
MA2: Don't remember. Mechs were tied to maps.

Thor has been good in every installment, even MW3 Stock games, but it was never my main Mech.

I kinda hate to admit it but I did boat a little bit in MW4. But hey, I was 16 then. I often used a Daishi with (3) LBX-20s and some medium pulse lasers. I worked in tandem with my friend who drove something with light gauss rifles. He'd harass at range while I closed in.

The Dashi was a beast, most powerful mech in MW4 Mercs, almost unbeatable when you had the right weapons.

In MW4Mercs, Cauldron Born toting 2 LBX-20, 1 LBX-10 and 1 Heavy Medium Laser with upgraded engine, so it ran wherever I wanted it to run.

(No, it's not Ebon Jaguar you extinct clan :( )

I had a close range Thor in MW4 mercs with an LBX-AC20 and RAC-5 that could shred almost anything and a Bushwacker that was similar but with a RAC-2 instead of 5. Did more damage with the Bushy than the Thor when I jammed up Assaults (they couldn't point down enough to hit me :().

Time to date myself. Original TT rules was a field modded Jenner or an Archer. The Archer got replaced later by the Catapult. On the video game side: MechWarrior , BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception and BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Revenge I ran Jenners or Warhammers. Mechwarrior 2, I used the Vulture over all others. Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries saw me back in my Jenner but I also had my Catapult and the odd Atlas. Mechwarrior 3 forced me into an Owens, so I ended up using a Mad Cat more often then not. The odd Firefly if I wanted to just run and hide. MW3 Pirate's Moon made me give up on anything lighter then 55 tons. Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries, I found myself using a modified Daishi. Outside of the 'mechs, I have to say that Overlord drop ships have been my friend in many a battle. Never really paid much attention to the Aerotech guys, infantry or armour. But then, even in the board games, I am nothing more then a merc'. Show me the C-Bills and the target. Plus don't think that I am not keeping the smoldering wrecks of my kills.

No it wasnt.... daishi cockpits were very easy to hit....

Its ironic, but the mechs I used to win the most games, against, was the daishi noobs. With any mech. I have won so many games with so many different mechs, I couldnt possibly tell which one won the most...

On my behalf Daishi was the most successful, but Madcat is a close second.
