So i've been playing a light mech and an assault mech in an attempt to get a feel for this new "replay" feature on hit detection.

here's some observations:

1. In my raven, there have been instances where i've taken damage, and when i look around, there is NOBODY visible that could have hit me. this has happened more than once. in particular the most egregious instance occurred after i had gone around a corner. several seconds after rounding this corner. i suddenly got "hit" again.

2. In my assault mech. shooting at other big slow assault mechs. i clearly see hits graphics on the enemy from my ballistic weapons, but no damage being registered/reticle isn't flashing red. this is particularly odd because my lasers are registering damage. just my ballistics are not. this has happened both on targets strafing and on targets moving directly towards me.

I feel the replay feature is inconsistent and/or makes damage appear to happen "out of nowhere".

this is particularly disconcerting especially since i have no idea where/when/what location my shots are even hitting because i'm not sure if it's replay or lag. I'm also experiencing some odd client rewind/lag where my mech or point of aim will suddenly shift in an unpredictable manner. I don't recall seeing this in any of the patch notes, but it wasn't happening prior to the most recent patch. There is also a consistent "hitch" similar to the rewind/jerk at the start of every match after a few seconds in.

I play with a relatively consistent ping between 60-100ms on a 50Mbps cable modem.

side note:

i feel that hit replay may be positively compensating for the netcode/speed problem but it appears to be having some unpredictable side effects as well. i'm not sure if replay is to blame for the aberrant behavior observed in this most recent patch.

I'm experiencing too severe lack of hit detection, or wonky hit detection, especially with PPCs and GRs.

Whenever there's a target moving sideway from me, sometimes I hit (with the graphical effect), sometimes I miss the hit that falls behind the target and the hit is detected.. many times I place alpha strikes on the CT of a totally standing target with no damage detected at all or some very low damage spread on the whole paperdoll of the enemy mech.

I'm getting quite crazy since this Tuesday, it looks like I'm not able to aim anymore.

I have been having that happen intermittently since before the most recent patch. It seems to be more confusion about where your 'Mech actually is in game, so your client is telling the server what you're shooting at but the server is saying 'you're nowhere near there.' Other symptoms for me include missile locks starting to register but not completing, targets not locking on when 'r' is pressed, slow response time in chat, and sometimes being told I'm out of bounds when I'm in the middle of the map. (I play lights exclusively at the moment)
