Hi all I am a relatively new player, and so far I have mostly used some of the great guides on these forums to build a few mechs. I really like the new highlanders and want to start working on mastering them, and I thought about going for a brawler variation of the 733C and then maybe a sniper 732 just for variation.
This is probably not optimal by any stretch of the imagination, but this is my first swing at making something I thought useful for a 733C brawler:

I am still getting a feeling for how the stats how to be, to be in a comfortable place, such as heat and if I need artemis or not. Do I need less or more heatsinks? Is artemis worth it? The leg armor is a bit low, but I feel that assault mechs rarely get shot there much, even with JJ.
I hope some of you can provide pointers on how to make a decent Highlander brawler, and possibly hints on the sniper variant. Thanks in advance for any help given.
Good start. The weapons load out is very close, if not the same as my close range DDC.
Remove two jump jets and leave only one for turning. Jump shooting is effective against scrubs, but doesn't have much advantage over pros. +2 tons
Add more ammo. You are a very short on both SRM and AC ammo.
Move some arm armor to your legs. Not all ammo are equal. Both SRM Artemis and AC20 ammo cause a great deal of damage when detonated. So you want to protect your legs. Pros almost always test your legs first.
All in all, you are cramping a bit more than you probably should in this mech. And you will have trouble with lights. I would replace all SRM with streaks, and use the tonnage for MPLAS, ammo, heatsinks, and full armor.
I am a brawler and I religiously configure brawler builds for every mech.
