PUG is just a three letter word, but so is fun. Yes, unlike the days of CB PUGing is a much more enjoyable experience.
I'm unable to play on my PC at home b/c MWO runs at 7fps, so I've been playing at work when I have the chance... Casually (don't tell my wife). I do miss playing with a group of players using VOIP.
What I have been thinking about is where does the "lone wolf" or the casual PUG fit in when CW comes into effect.
I know Bryan Eckman commented at GDC that you can play Casual, but what does that mean?
Is it going to be something dirty, that is not mentioned around polite (and in-polite) company?

PUG power! ^^
I don't think there will be big changes about the way we play the game once CW hits.
I guess it will be more about lore and specific boni you'll get for joining a faction or a merc group.
As a lone wolf you might not get these boni or there might be special boni for lone wolfs, but you'll have the choice for whom you'll fight.
After all, there'll never be only 8-man teams. There will always be mixed groups, with the exception of mixed factions...I guess.

Yep. Elo and limiting pre-mades to 4 has really done a lot to improve the quality of the single-player experience.

I stopped playing not long after CB because it just want' fun to play as a PUG kinda guy. Was all eight man steamrolls, I think I had a .25 winrate even though I almost always pulled my weight.
When people complain about the matchmaker, I always remember that; and think that now most people seem to have an even winrate, or within .2 either way of it. Matchmaking is hard, and this game does a better job than people give it credit for.

How about everyone without any affiliations would qualify as space pirates, taking advantage of situations to make a quick buck? It would be kinda fun ambushing IS and Clan troops alike, destroy them and grab their stuff. And thangs.

PUG in this context is not A word, it is an An acronym.
I played for 3 months at 7 frames per second... Just sayin'

No. Pirates are worse than vat scum.
If pirates come into the game, do it as their own faction.
