I don't know about eloquence as I think I came off a touch too excitable, but eh, it's five in the morning, what are you going to do?

The balance matrix is a complex issue, that is true. I am uncertain that DPS weapons need a bonus, per se... I see light autocannons holding their own in the arsenal. I will concede that the Particle Projector seems to be somewhat above the curve, and could use some fine-tuning. The upcoming tuning of long-range missiles I believe will also have a negative impact on the jump sniper meta.

However, I am still fully against an increase in leg damage from jumping as was posited by the OP. As a jump pilot, I already take plenty of damage from falls and over-jumping. Add to that even a small amount of incoming fire, and I play nearly every drop on the knife-edge of being legged - Anecdotal, I know, but there it is all the same.

New tactics require new counters - This is not a new phenomenon. Reactionary extremism is not a solution - Look at where LRMs ended up, if you wish for an example.

I know its an atypical situation, but I got 1-shot alpha'd at about 900m going full tilt in my spider through a fairly small gap in cover the other day by a poptart.

Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug.

I'm finding that I am taking a lot of head shots from them...In an atlas...WTF to that

Sometimes trying to flank a team with 50% pop tarts/snipers means exposing yourself to almost certain death.

Sometimes... But usually, it just means maneuvering to a non-standard engagement point.

You don't always have to run directly to Echo 4 on Alpine Peaks.

Just wait until the knockdowns are back. A bad drop on an uneven terrain and down the hill you go, mr. Highlander.

Worse than that.
We have a tactical game and people don't even know basic tactics.
I had to explain what a flank was last night in game and the guy
was still arguing with me that we weren't attacking the enemy
correctly because we weren't engaging head-on like he was.
We still won and derp died a violent death.
Thank the gods for PUG distractions...
:D

It never ceases to amaze me when folks whine and complain about a certain tactic, or weapon instead of reaching down deep to find their nethers and find was to counter it or just grin an bear it (or frown and bear it). (violin playing) "ooooh noooos someone is beating me because they are doing X and using Y!" (violin continues).

Too bad good snipers are usually sniping from their base.

Too bad those who think they are good are too lazy to move away
from their base where they could actually assist the rest of
their team...

Really?

So you snipe from base in Tourmaline or Alpine, the 2 most common maps atm?

Interesting. I too like shooting mountains and rocks and stuff.

Too bad you have no idea at all what you're talking about and you're just embarrassing yourself. There is no reason to ever move off base with poptarts unless you get desert.

I feel that pop-tarts should take more leg damage, if they don't save about 25% of their fuel to slow their decent.
This way they cant get as high, making them have to expose themselves more instead of hiding behind 20m tall buildings and popping over them.

I mean if your in your car and you jump 20m high, you would want something cushioning your fall.

The hgn´s have shock absorber at the legs.

Um...
I'm not sure the fact I don't poptart because I prefer killing them
is really all that embarrassing.
However, if you feel superior due to your awesome poptartiness,
then more power to you.
I'll enjoy watching the poptart fall of of the sky...

Oh, so you can keep trolling and trying to get those poor
Puggies to believe the BS you are putting out?
Whatever.
I'm sure once I can scrape my ELO high enough to get to your
level of awesomeness I'll have figured out how to kill the
flying Highlander/Cataphract/Whatever of doom.

People who don't know how to deal with it complain. People who don't know the difference between jump sniping and poptarting merely poptart.

People complain about poptarts. They are already dead from a jump sniper before they have time to figure out what killed them.

Edit: Typo... whoops
