Oh, so you can keep trolling and trying to get those poor
Puggies to believe the BS you are putting out?
Whatever.
I'm sure once I can scrape my ELO high enough to get to your
level of awesomeness I'll have figured out how to kill the
flying Highlander/Cataphract/Whatever of doom.
:P

At least I can back up what I'm saying. You probably spend more time on the forums than actually playing the game.

It's like people have never heard the term flank.

Isn't that the run speed equivalent for vehicles in Battletech?

True.
I do have a real life outside this game.
The forums are always accessible to me even if the game isn't.
Must be nice to have so much free time...

Even if you wanted to give JJers more damage from falling, you wouldn't be able to give that drawback to the highlander (the worst offender) because its legs are designed specifically to withstand impacts.

...However it was during the design's initial trial runs that pilots began using these 'Mechs in what would infamously become known as the "Highlander Burial". Leaping into the air and landing directly on their enemy, a Highlander could literally drive a light 'Mech into the ground. So successful was this maneuver that the design team re-engineered the legs to withstand repeated death-from-above attacks and turned what had been a desperation move into an art form, giving Highlander pilots an additional psychological edge.[3][5][6][7][8]

Poptarts are annoying, yes, but I (and a lot of other people) want death from above to be a viable tactic, so increased leg damage is not really an option IMO.

poptarts are usually little more than a nuissance to me.

once you are aware of them and their presence and location on the battlefield, they are easy to avoid. just think of them as a bouncing turret and stick and move with cover. you can either fire at them while they bounce up, or move in between their bounces.

when I bounce up and down my legs do take some damage. i'd imagine it's the same for most poptarts, they'd have to save fuel for each landing. i really don't get the hate on poptarts, and i've never even played one because they just don't seem to school me that much, probably because when I see them pop up i hit them, it's kinda fun whackamole. if you hit them once usually they are like "doh!" and try to move or wait.

Personally, I think poptarts were the best thing to happen to
KDR...

I can hit them when they are in the air, can't you?

The only issue I have with pop tarting is that they stay upright when they get hit in the air. If a mech go hit by ballistics or missiles while in the air it would lose ballance and fall over, doing damage to the part of the mech that it landed on. If they could get this in game I would have absolutely no problem with it at all.

I demand a buff for DFA attacks, currently landing on a mech does more damage to your own legs, be it a light or an assault you land on. It's not exactly easy to land on another mech and happens more often to teammates from careless jumping, which would also make it more skill reliant over simply jumping around every time your jets are fresh regardless of teammate locations. Currently landing on a teammate does minimal if any damage at all to either mech.

I agree gravity backed damage needs a buff, but so does all collision damage... watched a jagermech completely full armor but out of ammo face ram a crippled cherry red torso unarmed atlas on the enemy base for 7-8 minutes in a corp 8v8 match. Full speed ramming into the atlas completely unarmored and damaged torso barely blinked a half a point of damage at most, he must have rammed him 20 or so times to no avail.

While I agree one medium laser would have made all the difference there still neeeeeeeeds to be more damage for running into each other, it's simply causing sloppy pilots!

Whos in for the last ditch rocket fist punch and/or cockpit ejection into the enemys face! RobotJox HO!

Collisions will come back but right now it just creates
funny situations.
Like when a Highlander gets stuck on top of a Light.
I had that happen to me last night.
I took that Highlander for a ride back to my friends who were
waiting for him before he realized what was wrong...
:P

Hah for real, I had a bug last night in river city C4/D4 edge I landed on a building and slid through the texture, guy on other team said it looked like my highlander was in quicksand, fell into oblivion with 1 leg left under the texture. He had just turned his stream off so we didnt get a recording of it, would have been great! First time I've seen that bug.

And I want to ride on the back of a raven, where can I sign up?? Fat guy on a little mount!
