looks like you have 5 tons more ssrm ammo than you need

also careful about being caught out in the open.

Since all my weapon slots are full, I was just filling up spaces lol! Like I said I'm very new at this, hehe.

If I reduced ammo and upgraded to some large lasers, I'm afraid my heat would be too high and one alpha would put me near shutdown?

That guy is wicked, but at over 12 million, I'd be grinding at least an extra week to build that!

why does your mech have 8 free tonnes?

you could use the same mech build with a standard 300 engine and two more heat sinks in the engine bay.

Not bad. If you replace your 255 engine with a 300 Standard Engine you'll use up some of that tonnage (as well as give yourself 2 more heatsink slots, which you can fill since you'll still have 2.5 tons remaining). The bigger engine will give you more maneuverability as well.

You'll be dealing with some limitations though:
  • The Stalker (in general) is not a very mobile weapons platform. If mechs were tanks, a Stalker would be a tank destroyer - deadly to anything that's in front of it, but kinda harmless to anything that moves fast or isn't in front of it.
  • You'll be very vulnerable to ECM - it'll effective neutralize 30% of your firepower. That said, you could consider switching 2 of the SSRM launchers to SRM4 launchers. They'll give you more short-range firepower in a pinch and leave you less vulnerable to ECM.
  • This mech is very short ranged. On large maps like Alpine or Tourmaline Desert you'll have a hard time closing to engagement range with the enemy.
Not too bad though! Every design has weaknesses, you just need to work on minmizing them. The bigger engine will give you speed to help get yourself into range and it'll give you more maneuverability to help deal with pesky lights and mediums.

Ok, the engine is too small especially for a close range fighter. You have way to much streak ammo and you rear armor allocation is much to small.

I don't own any stalkers, but this is what I would do instead.

the large lasers give you a bit or range. the Srms give you some close range punch and the medium lasers help you track those pesky mediums and lights that get up in your grill. the rear armor is still a little light, but you'll just have to be careful.

heat is definately the enemy, you just have to learn how to manage it. try taking fewer shots but make them count fully if you're being plagued by heat.

I agree with Artgathan. I would put a STD 300 engine in your design definitely. You'll appreciate the extra speed in torso twisting and movement. -- AND more heatsinks, since you can store 2 additional in the engine.

Change to this:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...084695e54cfee0e

800 rounds of SSRM2 ammo is way too much, all you need is about 300 like they said. That's enough for 37.5 volleys. I also changed the torso lasers to large so you can reach out and touch someone. Also, faster engine.
