Alright, when the Heavy Metal Highlander came out, it was rare to see one and having Jump Jets was all well and good, now that it's available to everyone and EVERY FREAKING VARIANT has Jump Jets, it seems like in 95% of the games I play, over half the people are Jump Jet camping because they are too chicken to come out and fight. I am not sure who came up with the idea to give every variant of the Highlander the ability to equip Jump Jets, but it's making the game less fun.

In other words, new FOTM Mech is making the game less fun because of a stupid design.

Cap their base. They're not exactly what I would call fast.

I saw a guy get matched against 8 highlanders an hour ago. How do you take a base from even 4?

This isn't anywhere near being frequent enough of a condition to merit worry. People will drift back towards their favorite mechs soon enough, and we'll have at least a mild relief from the poptart horde.

because they are dumb and allow themselves to be capped
i have done it all weekend

+100

WIth all the assaults in every match, there was no better time bar none to run a light..... What good is a 6 ppc alpha if i push a button and watch it all sail into the snow in front of me, cooling down faster than the boat it came from.

Spent all weekend needling away at rear torsos, watching streaks fly rings around panicing highlanders, and capping bases when the time to do so came.

There`s something about knowing that any hit could potentially kill you that makes the adrenaline pump and and the brain go into tactical overdrive. When I got Into my Atlas today I felt like I was piloting a slow blimp ;)

Haven`t hat that much fun in a long time, but it will probably be over by next weekend when everybody`s done eliting their Highlanders.

This is not trending meta, I repeat this is NOT trending meta!!!! ...This is a know issue in Mechwarrior games. and if it is not curbed NOW, it will stay the overarching meta, because it's what works.

I agree with Jade. Alpha striking needs to be re-tuned. Weapon convergence across all parts of the mech should not work perfectly straight away all the time when jumping or fast changes in distances/location aiming at. There should be a lag.

This will cut down the amount of pop tarts, and ensure that people that can still do so, can do so based on their skill.

Play whack a mole as they come up, and focus fire, or just go cap their base ;)
