Drawing On The Map?

they would of course fade after a little time to clear up the map and maybe help stop the inevitable trolling but i think this feature would be really handy and maybe stop the noob-charge-of-death that is such a recurrent feature in the game

P.S. "stop the noob-charge-of-death" has nothing to do, nor will be solved, if a Commander can draw on the Map. Best thing is to text to folks what the "B" key is used for... and the "R" key too.

Good idea, in theory...but I'd bet you a diddled-eyed Joe to a damned if I know that it fails in practice.

And plus they need to add rewards for following orders.

Good players have no right or place "controlling" those they believe to be "bads" regardless. Bads will improve with time and I pray for the day that elitists get over themselves.

well, bad players that dont listen are the problem im talking about. if a bad player doesnt listen they will stay bad for life. by drawing on the map it gives them an idea of what to do without it offending them too much. a lot of the bads dont listen due to spite, they are angry about being bad and then feel like someone is patronizing them when they give orders.
sure, you can do what you want, you can wander around firing randomly at walls and at team mates at the start of the game and whatnot and then go charge straight into the enemy, lose the game for the team, drop again and repeat... but thats sh1tting all over everyone elses game so we need more ways to stop this happening and giving the bad players visual aid(s) is one of the ways to do this

yup. its a system designed for 1v1 games of chess, not 8v8 games of mechwarrior online... but alas gamers are 'used' to it so its hard for them to know otherwise, its very complicated for them. i tried to explain to someone on this forum once and he took not being able to understand really personally :s kinda the same problem with the bad players in the game itself, they take being bad as a personal problem

I think maybe it has something to do with your elo ranking. For me, most of the time anyways, I have pretty good matches that aren't total blowouts. My team mates usually do not suck at the game and the enemy usually doesn't either. The down side to this is everyone but myself is running around in a cheesed out cheese build...or poptarding in one location the entire match.

On the contrary I think it's working rather well.

well, that would be true but im 23 games to 4 in my highlander and you still see the same bad players doing the same bad things. its a world of crush or be crushed and elo doesnt help at all. what happens then when i get another highlander and have some bad luck with players and lose 23 games out of 27 instead of the other way round? will it be my fault or the fault of the terrible matchmaking system that i was matched with the bads game after game? elo means absolutely f-all when you play solo, its rating is determined by who you get on your team and that boils down to luck. in a perfect world, that wouldnt be true but hey

elo is one of those things that means so much to ppl but in reality its absolutely paper thin. play in proper leagues / ladders to find out how good you really are instead of relying on a broken system to show you something that you want to see

You seek to control that which you cannot. The more you tighten your grip, the more bads will slip through your fingers.
Seriously, in PUG matches, the team that will win will be the team that has the fewest morons. You can quickly tell how things are going to go by brining up your map, if it's working, and count the number of non-scout players that have broken off from the main column. You can try to bring them back into the fold, but no amount of drawing, icons, or chat will deter most lemmings from their suicide run.

This would be like having a day care center at our base for our ...slower... siblings.
Yeah, I'm for it!
And, apropos of nothing...

winning is absolutely luck. watching the guys on my team is a form of torture. matchmaking so hilariously broken at this point. is there any reason at all to solo drop when the community is so hilariously bad at this game?
oh, just won a game 8 - 2. and guess what? the enemy team comes retarding in while one of their bads runs across the map to our spawn (not capping). winning is luck
