Yeah.. see I'm not dumb enough to go at them if I can't get to them. I just go around and make them move. You see, tactics, real tactics, not this silly-arse pop-tarting crap, are about making the enemy fight on your terms. Not going and meeting them on theirs.
I'm not parroting anything. I know how to avoid it. The people I'm playing with know how to avoid it (mostly). The people I'm playing against know how to avoid it if I try it on them (mostly). Honestly, I'd make videos if my rig would do it with a decent frame rate (sorry, I have higher priorities than dropping the dough on a gaming rig, atm), but all I can offer at the moment is that with my admittedly mediocre skills and a rig that runs at frame-rates most of you would probably consider unplayable, I still have no serious issues with pop-tarts. Sure, I've died to them. I've died to pretty much everything, at one time or another. But the only time I consider them to be a real issue is on those occasions when I get saddled with a team that wants to re-enact the Charge of the Light Brigade.
BTW, I'm not a pop-tart. I do have 4 HGN's (HM, 732,733,733C), all with JJs. And I do take some jump-shots, but I've never considered it a very good tactic, and only do it in lieu of edging in and out of cover, like other mechs, while waiting for the battle to develop or looking for an opening. I'm generally in the think of the fight, so don't try to lump me in with those stat-padders trying to preserve their KDR. Even my 733 (currently configured as a sniper) is generally moving, looking for a good firing lane to lay down a barrage, rather than take pot-shots.
My understanding is that Kong is considered one of the better corps, but I submit, sir, that months of PUG-stomping has greatly inflated your ego and caused your tactical abilities to wither on the vine.
So if everyone competent knows how to avoid poptards and that your tactic of flanking at 60kph is so perfect, why do I see 3-5 of them each game? If the tactic is so perfect they should all have just reverted to balanced builds by now.
Yes, the argument of "flanking" and "using tactics" against someone who can jump above the line of his cover to shoot at you as he follows you with his aim, since there's always someone outside his cover to give info, is so worn out that they're using it in p o r n industry as a c l i t benchmark for female p0rnstars.
Who's "lumping" you with all the poptards? Unless, of course, you feel like you should be "lumped in". Well do you?
Oh yes, you'll now make a retort about using a medium mech. Sorry to burst your bubble but I've more than often seen trebs, the fastest 50 tonners, 1shot by poptarts as they tried to "flank" them. Cicada tried to go back over the ridge, guess who killed it. That's right, a 45 pinpoint damage poptart!
The game's broken as the guy, whom you are so badly failing to prove wrong, said. Go on, make another pointless and worn out argument on tactics for a game that (d)evolved from facerolling brawl to 2 button poptarting.
