They tried to announce it on the test servers but it messed up everyones fps and caused mechlab to crash to the desktop.

So they went ahead and rolled it out to the public.

I understand releasing info through other social media sites to generate "buzz", but you would think they could at least post it to their own forums as well, unless they pay the social media manager by the letter.

Of course it probably isn't going to be news to anyone on the forums, maybe a launch date, or "oh noes aliens invade, but they aren't really aliens, they are clones"

Lol they could at least start deleting threads so everyone doesn't have to know their shame.

Ok I usually like to keep optimistic about the devs, but they need to ban them from twitter as part of company policy. It's become clear that they cannot be trusted with it...

(It's totally not 1am here and I was totally not waiting up to see this announcement ;) )

PGI, what you do with all your money?

Oh, looking at the tweet, It seems like it might be something like another bobblehead. That would explain why its being delayed- its not ready yet.

A game developer announces a 24 hour delay and the forums flood with tears. Pitiful.

A Stockholm syndrome fan is completely OK with laughable blunders in even the most minor of events. Pitiful.

Typical. They can't even get an announcement done right. I would threaten to stop playing. But I can't do that since the disappearing packet bug has rendered the game unplayable.

In fairness if my bobblehead-or-something-similar theory is correct, it not being ready may not be entirely under their control.

Don't know what to say here... maybe something I learned in business when I first got going and wanted to work on everything:

Underpromise, overdeliver.

You can always deliver more, but if you cannot make a deadline for certain, do NOT promise you can. What we seem to have here is having so many awesome promises made, but so often missed/late/dropped that it is turning many of it's most vocal and enthusiastic supporters into cynics. Promise us less, deliver us more and we will be happier I swear (although it may be too late for this advice).

Maybe that is what the announcement is about. THEY FIXED THE DISAPPEARING PACKET BUG! That would be grand news.

Totally agree. Always a great way to conduct yourself in almost every aspect of your life.

Too bad for PGI even a "In two hours we'll have something" tweet counts as overpromising.

Maybe whoever runs the MWO twitter announcements needs to consult Bryan... he's a freakin pro at it.
