An obvious clarification on the policy would be to explain just what "kill on sight" means. Obviously if a name appears on the dezgra list and then is on the opposing team you are going to try to kill them, but what if they are on your team? Is it an entirely redundant list? Also, why is the list not public anymore?

To elaborate: directly contradicting a previous claim without actually mentioning, discussing, or otherwise acknowledging a claim is not clarification. It's actually the opposite. To clarify, you'd also have to address the instruction that prompted the concern. Was it a joke? Was it a "rogue member"? Even "I have no idea what's up with that, I'm assuming it's a joke" would be better than saying "we don't TK" then getting snotty about further requests for clarification.

Seriously, not trying to troll, pick a fight, or otherwise cause trouble. I browse all over these forums, clicked this thread for information, and got really confused. I'd just like a little bit of actual clarification so I'll know whether I need to watch my fellow goons' backs, like back in closed beta when people would periodically try to TK us for squawking.

This question was already addressed in an earlier post by Errodien.

The concerns postulated in the last few days have been addressed by an senior member, and have made the Clan's official position clear on the matter. Further discussion of this specific subject is unnecessary.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that this is entirely incorrect for a couple of reasons.

Those of us that Clan Wolf .info has internally victimized, and those that Clan Wolf .info has specifically targeted for intentional in-game teamkilling in violation of the MWO CoC came to this thread to ask about Clan Wolf .info's policies.
We showed you a recording of players on your VOIP server discussing the intentional and systematic teamkilling by Clan Wolf .info.
We showed you the page on your own website which stated that your players.
We waited for you to explain these things or show contrition for your actions.

So far Clan Wolf .info has failed to address any of these issues. Mr.s WX and Errodien have come here to claim that they are leaders of Clan Wolf .info. Mr. WX said some things that aren't decipherable, and nothing that I can understand to be relevant to the thread here in any way. Mr. Errodien claimed to be a Clan Wolf .info leader, but failed to display any knowledge of even his own clan's public website pages!

So we are left with nothing but Mr. Errodien's claim that the Clan Wolf .info website never instructed its players to teamkill. Since we have a screenshot which obviously disproves his claim, not to even mention the recording from VOIP, this leaves two possibilites:
1) Mr. Errodien does not have any knowledge of his own clan's published policy - in which case his opinion is irrelevant to this discussion, or
2) Mr. Errodien is lying or trolling - in which case, his opinion is irrelevant in general.

Let's move this thread forward please! Would someone who is actually involved in setting the policy of Clan Wolf .info and willing to engage the community honestly please come tell us how the Teamkill order was placed on the Clan Wolf .info website, and what Clan Wolf .info intends to do to fix the problem?

I am not in a leadership position within Clan Wolf, nor am I an official community representative, but I can verify that which will be said and has already been said by others. Please understand that it is not my place to speak out about this matter, but I do this in good faith, at the risk of disciplinary action, common language fallacy, and your own interpretation should you simply be here to harass the members of Clan Wolf.

Your two conclusions are the product of false assumptions about said evidence and the response received. He is correct; Clan Wolf's official policy does not advocate team killing of anyone in a griefing manner and falls in line with PGI's set CoC for Mechwarrior Online. Not once does the website say, nor have any of the members here spoken any differently to my knowledge.

One of the primary evidence pieces you are trying to use to falsify his claim is the posted screenshot of the Dezgra list, which again falls victim to interpretation and anecdotal accounts of poor behavior. For clarification on the Dezgra list; it is an item carried over from the lore and serves the MWO Clans as a list of players who have been documented to habitually grief others or done something rather heinous in the eyes of a community. This can include anything from hacking, known game breaking exploits, intentional team griefing, or otherwise doing bad stuff.

The term 'Kill on Sight' is being thrown around by accusers as a sort of an instagitory word without understanding that it is carry over from the lore and how it is typically practiced within the Clan in MWO, outside of what appears to be an exceptional case (especially when it would seem none of the players were even on the Dezgra list.). From my experience, in over a year of dropping alongside members of Clan Wolf I have never experienced this behavior.

While divinedisclaimer's screenshot of the scoreboard does nothing to back up his claim that Clan Wolf members were the agitators in this event, it does show that an obvious conflict arose between the two parties. This brings us to the final part; the posted recording by divinedisclaimer, with what I assume, based on content, occurred a relatively short time after the in-game event.

From a purely lore based standpoint this depiction of the Dezgra list is accurate, however, in striving for practical application of the source material the Clan does not follow the books 1:1, and I have already stated the official policy of Clan Wolf in regards to griefing. Being mindful of interpretation is important and as I am sure you all can understand; the actions of a few do not necessarily represent an entire community. I trust a sensible conclusion can be made of this and would like to ask that the conversation be laid to rest already.

TL;DR
As has been stated several times; There is no Clan Wolf team kill order. Are we clear?

We would be, were your use of "Dezgra" not totally wrong. See also: the Falcon Guards under Aidan Pryde.

Looks like someone isn't being entirely honest, OR is bad at being a grog.

The Jade Phoenix trilogy is a great read. I and many others are very familiar with it.

I would like to reiterate that Clan Wolf is a lore-based, not lore-exact, Clan. While Clan Wolf does make a concerted effort to keep true to the source material, obviously concessions must be made in the translation of the material to the limitations and nature of a gaming community, as well as the game itself. (Which is only loosely based on the same universe, and lacks the required content and facilities.)

if you disagree with this specific application of the source material, you are welcome to your opinion. There are plenty of other gaming groups that are far more exacting with their application of the lore, and unless you have a vested interest in joining a lore exact group, not of great importance in my eyes. If that was your (and if by 'We' you mean the consensus of the other posters as well) only issue with my previous post, then I would hope that the position of Clan Wolf on this subject is fully clarified and that the concerns have been answered sufficiently so that this particular discussion may come to an end.

You begin by admitting that you have no authority within Clan Wolf.info, then claim to know its policy, then say "to my knowledge". We are not here to hear about what is true "to your knowledge".

The simple fact is that someone in a position of authority in Clan Wolf.info placed a dezgra list which specifically stated "these players are to be killed on sight" on the Clan Wolf.info website. This person, must I remind you, had the authority to create pages on Clan Wolf.info's website. Until players came here to expose the misbehavior of Clan Wolf.info, no one in Clan Wolf.info with the authority to edit its website did so, and no one in Clan Wolf.info with the social authority to address the problem did so. These facts are simple and obvious.

You clearly have an opinion, but since you have no pertinent knowledge, your opinion is not an answer to the question before us.

EDIT: This discussion is clearly going nowhere. Clan Wolf.info has completely failed to explain or even speak for itself. There may be nothing we can do but assume their behavior is suspect from here on out. I hope Clan Wolf.info can improve in the future, but I personally won't waste my time bringing up new points here.

I encourage you to read my post more carefully before jumping to conclusions, and understand it may not be as black and white as you have said. You are correct though, I did say I have no authority in Clan Wolf; as I am not in a leadership position.

View PostPLEXI, on 01 November 2013 - 07:44 PM, said:

Within this thread, on this specific subject, I have not seen a Clan Wolf member post any differently to what I have previously stated. That is the reason I stressed that it was 'to my knowledge', as I do not usually frequent this forum.

In regards to my pertinent knowledge; I have held a non leadership position within Clan Wolf for over a year, by choice. I have been apart of many competitive and PUG drops, Clan meetings, recruitment, and involved in all aspects of this community. I have every authority, simply as a long standing member, in verifying what has been said and what will be said to be the official policy of Clan Wolf as it is actually practiced by us. It is not merely my opinion. That is a fact.

As I have already stated, I do this in good faith, and it is very likely that my response is the only one you shall recieve. Should you choose to continue not accepting my responses as valid answers, then you have already, not only wasted my time but your time as well.

You'll excuse me if I don't take your little "anecdotes" as evidence. Feel free to PM me if someone with admin access to the Clan Wolf.info website shows up and actually provides a decent explanation to the rest of us as to why list which explicitly instructed their clan members to kill certain other players on sight, regardless of their team, was posted and kept on the website.

Freebirth. Pfeh.

I'm not about to read through 13 pages of pap to find out whether or not my clan is still looking for memebers or not.

I come to see whether or not the clan that gave me birth and made me a warrior still remembers or values me. I was once a member, during the MW3 days ( you may or may not remember me...I'm the one that designed the ICE/UA maps 'Conquest' and 'Assault'). I require neither recognition nor pity as I have become Solhama with my advancing antiquity.

I request readmittance into my clan. Feel free to ignore and belittle me, but at least have the courage to make yourself known so that when I see you on the field of battle, I may have the satisfaction of grinding my feet into the mush of your corpse.

In remembrance of the Black Widow, I say 'Sela.'

Solahma or not, you have a fiery spirit. I cannot speak for the others as I am a newly blooded warrior, but I believe we do have some old guard among the ranks of the touman. They may yet recognize you. Head to the enclave at clan-wolf.info and announce your intent and you might be able to run with the wolves again.

I have to say, I played this game about 8 months ago and just recently picked it up. Can't believe it was only now that I discovered that Clan Wolf is around.

I am, however, only a casual player. My skills are also rusty, not having played anything but Mechwarrior 2 (I was 7ish) and this. I would like, though, to be able to refine my skills and master my mechs.

I am a wolf at heart, and would like to join in the ranks.

I have received the fire at the cermoney of Jizalgo and am a trueborn son of the Wolf. I have played for many hours and shot more robots than I can count on 1000 fingers. I would like to take up the arms of the Clan of the Wolf against the honourable enemy as soon as you clarify these unsubstantiated rumors of teamkilling. Is that honourable because it seems that its' s not very honourable? Not sure.

Yes I am interested in joining the Mighty Clan Wolf during the March For Terra. Being a Clan Blood Spirit, I am a homeworld Clan. However I can assure you I would do my best in all things should you have me. I am best used as a Cavalry Scout or a Star Commmander. Of course, if Clan Blood Spirit should ever become active in MWO, I would recuse myself from your ranks at that time to return to my Clankin. I eagerly look forward to your reply.

I'm currently still getting a feel for the game. I've fallen in love with it though (it's got a way better community than World of Tanks, which is where I've been for the last few years). I've also been a bit of a lore follower and Clan Wolf's always stuck out as an inspirational group within the BT universe. smart tactics, not letting themselves be bound by the dogma (no pun intended) of some of the more rigid clans out there. Even back when I played the minis game when I was little, I was a fan of clan mechs.

I don't think I'm good enough to join yet, still need some practice, but I'd love to visit y'all soon and see about learning a thing or three. I intend to get the clan mech pack (not sure which one yet, though with tax season fast-approaching I'm eying the big pack or maybe even one of the bling'mechs).

Hopefully y'all will have me :D
