PGI just really needs ONE good mathematician. Then they could stop doing all this random arbitrary crap.

So not only does the thread title have nothing to do with the actual OP, but the irony is that the OP is QQing about QQ. Give me your tears, they are delicious.

I'm not gonna bite with the rest of your rant, but this particular issue was a gigantic pile of half chewed bollocks, and I still celebrate the day it deservedly met its end.

Few of us still play.. some more fervently then others...

but it mostly caused we're tired of having our faces rubbed in the fact that we got lured...hooked..line and sinker..
its cause we got tired of being the butt end of a bad joke.. PGI hasn't done anything for us other then a few mechs with a F on it..then **** on us by having hero's that give more bonus then our 60-120 mechs do .. etc ..

it just a long list of disappointments.. but some of us still persevere.. against all odds..

btw...dragon bowling was fun... line a grp of mechs..roll right on in.. STRIKE!!!! ..then die and horrible funny fashion

you know, most of these changes are being brought in because people who trial the game at PAX East/West Comic Con and whatever the European version is have all said things like "It's a really cool game but I'm want to be able to see my guy while he's fighting (Third Person) If it had that then I'd play it for sure" and PGI Reps take notes and send it is. What isn't attached to those notes is that these are 10-16 year olds who only have a PS3/X-Box and have no income to speak of. So for a computer based game that might need you to spend a little bit of money on it these aren't the people you should be talking to, it's their parents and guys like me, in my mid 40's with a credit card, that they should be listening to a little more closely and maybe placing slightly more weight in my words than some kid at Comic Con. Pity they have forgotten Economics 101, Keep the customer happy. Ah well, we'll see where this all ends up.....

Im a founder and I still play this game. It has had a lot of improvements since I took a long break a while back.

Some things still need tweaking here and there, but I don't have any wavering faith that PGI doesn't know what they are doing. They seem on the ball to me.

Everything will be tweaked and re-tweaked. That is the nature of things at this stage I am afraid.

Edit: Also I would hate a 3rd Person view in this game because it would ruin the game. You would be forced to go 3rd Person to max your FOV, no way around it. Would ruin the immersion and many other factors.

HOWEVER, I would love 3rd Person view after you die and spectate, it would be nice to pan out and see the battle in 3rd Person!!

Im an Overlord as well. I hope there is a way to mix an indication of my Legendary Founder and Overlord titles so I don't have to give up one for the other. Like maybe an Overlord Avatar and the Legendary Founder tag below it, or a title and tag, or something.

Anyway I thought we were getting our new Overlord mechs on July 25th next week?

"At this stage" - you mean JUST BEFORE RELEASE?

Yeah. Although then ppl would abuse it thanks to the magic of teamspeak (or fast typing :P).

I don't play because my friends don't play much any more. I tried pugging, but I immediately remember that my biggest complaint about MWO has always been my fellow players.

This, imho, is the real reason for the prevalence of snipers. You can't trust your teammates to actually be useful in a brawl, so it is safer to stay back.

The game would be 10x better if I was doing everything, like to vote yes.

Well, I have been watching the development of this game for quite a while now. I remember when This game was in a state that is laughable compared to what we have now. I am just saying that what we have isn't necessarily set in stone, they have made a lot of bad changes and then reversed them and or put things back the way they were.

I'm not saying there aren't issues, I am just saying that its not the hopeless "woe is me" situation that the OP and some others are describing.

What you need to do is find a big guild that plays MWO. I joined one a long time ago and it completely has changed my MWO gaming experience. Much more fun when you have a guild full of friendly people your age playing together.

I wish we were getting them on July 25th but no the release date is Oct 15th so we have a long, long wait. That wait almost convinced me not to buy it to be honest but in the end I caved hehe.

This is actually the biggest issue I had with 12v12. Since it's so difficult to coordiinate anything without voice comms, brawling is far more risky, and an advance onto the enemy position is much more likely to fail, so sniping is far more prevalent there.

That said, I'm still playing, and I also bought an Overlord package. The game, at its core, is still a lot of fun, even though a lot of the mechanics are kinda janky and awkward, and individual games can be really frustrating with poor matchmaking and abusive mech builds and tactics.

I really don't play as much as I used to. My brother, another founder, stopped playing completely. He was one of those silent "hardpoint restriction" supporters that rarely talked on the forums, but read a little about it and was outraged by some of PGI's design decisions. He got sick of it and simply called it a day. I'm a bit more optimistic, but I'm losing more hope every patch. The recent heat scale is simply unintuitive, arbitrary and makes 100% less sense than hardpoint sizes.
