My guess? Mech body kit mods, mentioned long ago as a possibility. Spiky shoulder pads for your Atlas. Spoiler for your Jenner. External Christmas lights?
Thinking it will cost huge amounts of mech XP to unlock, since plenty of people have hundreds of thousands, and in some cases, millions of unspent XP on their favourite chassis.
I'd certainly welcome something to grind towards on my favorite mechs, and make it stand out as a machine that's seen a lot of drops.
Epics will be Fails!
Come on, you know you were thinking it too!

I bet that Epic's are one of two not so Epic things:
-Another level of mech Xp unlock beyond mastery
-Special hard to achieve achievements (Kill a mech while both in mid air, damage a mech with a MG, etc).

That's what I'm thinking - specific weapons that have boosts above standard weapons that are purchasable only with CW credits - or MC, of course.
If they did it in loot form where you could loot bad guys 'Mechs and have technicians strip it for salvage and you had the chance of receiving unique weapons, that'd be cool. But chances are the way to get unique stuff in MWO will be lame and equate to a grind for a new currency system.

Extra armor for the hunch shoulder?
PPC specialty for Awesomes?
LRM specialty for Catapults?
It will probably all be cosmetic stuff though.

This is exactly what I was thinking.
Would be way cooler to get loot like that by looting, though.
An idea I had in my head is kill a 'Mech sometimes you get the salvage. You have three options, one is free - you sell the salvage for scrap and get a random sum of c-bills. Second option costs c-bills - you have the chance of looting c-bills, pieces of equipment, and a low chance for random, unique gear. Third option costs MC, gives you a higher c-bill payout, and ups the chances you have for looting unique gear. Then open a global market where players can sell their loot.
People love rewards. Loot is a great reward, and it gives people incentive to buy and use MC.

If you have ever played Star Citizen. They have an interesting way of doing this.
You have like 6 "nodes" with salvage potential salvage in them. You can harvest 3 of them after the match. Sometimes you get items others you get stuff worth money.
you could probably pull something like this off for mechwarrior pretty easy.
