its a cicada, you can see the wonky, knees. If it is going to pass for a clan mech, perhaps a Mad Dog. Definitely not a Timber Wolf.

Well the wolf have even weirder knees.. they have this weird struts that shoot up behind...

@Alienfreak: Well seeing as MW:LL had a total playerbase that could be fit in to a small apartment ... that is not a very good argument. And it is not like they were first with the desert/hills/canyons map. =P

Please don't call it "Canyon".

Because I've been to Utah and most of the canyons, I don't mean the Grand Canyon, mind you... most canyon are MONSTEROUS in size. I couldn't compare this screenshot of the new map as Canyon at all. Otherwise it would be wrong impression of what "canyon" is.

I'd compare this as Desert version of Black Hills in North Dakota.

Having lived in Utah, Nevada and Eastern California, you're completely wrong.

I'm sorry, you were saying?

If anything, more like a Mesa... not Canyon.

Can we compromise and call it "Proto-canyon Riverbed Ravine with Mesa-like structures?"

LULZ,
Ok, we'll just remove 30 some years of my personal experience in favor of your Google Earth trip.

What is with you people and semantics?

True, but the new pic has...

1. Mechs standing around
2. A resource collector
3. Moons/planets in the sky (which do look really cool).

That means its new and exciting right? Right?!?!

...I just don't get this. Are we missing something in this pic?

I refuse to call this map "canyon" as it is clearly not a canyon! I will from now on refer to it as the "super happy magical fun time" map

Doesn't matter how long you have been living there... it's how well you understand the scale. And yes, I have been to Utah before.

Well if it breaks up the cycle of:- Alpine Peaks; Tourmaline dessert; [Something else]; Alpine Peaks; Tourmaline dessert etc ad nausium I have been getting by "Random" the last few days I'll enjoy it.

So that's that then. Here's hoping for a really dense forest map in actual greens next as opposed to the dry washed out colours somebody seems to think are realistic?

< sarcasm >Oh wait, do I need to spend MC's to get the vibrant colours like on the Mech paintshop?</ sarcasm >

Seriously can somebody direct me to a forum section where the types of maps that folks want to see is under discussion? I see search is working again but didn't spot one for this.

Since you want to be pigheadded about this...

Ok, so here is a canyon on Earth... pretty broad

Posted Image

But since we're in SPACE, here is one from Mars.
Posted Image

6 times deeper than the Grand Canyon and almost the length of the United States.

How is that whole "scale" thing working out for you?

This is an "airplane". Therefore, anything that does not look like this and measure the same dimensions is not an "airplane."

Normally I can stand a bit of criticism , but it seems you guys are getting off on posting obnoxious criticisms all the time. Guess I'll stay off the forums and just play.

Bunch of grognards.
