Okay, article titles making pop culture references aside I do want to be serious about this. I'm incredibly disappointing by the decision of IGPto remove General Discussion from the MWO main forum. since it was one of the few threads where both new and experienced players could come to discuss the state of the game, and the general attitude trends of the community. I think many people have argued in detail against their decision to such a degree that I could contribute little to that particular discussion. However General Discussion wasn't the only thread that was removed by IGP.
While GD did serve as a good way to see the general attitude trends of the community as a whole, threads like the Game Balance forum allowed for greater detailed discussion over specific issues of balance inside of the game. Many of my discussion that I had both read and participated in the Game Balance forum were much more technical and detailed then the typical ones in GD. The discussions were less passionate but better contemplated, and the more specific details of the game's design which would get lost in the passionate discussion where brought to light. Because of this the Game Balance forum had conducted some of the more constructive discourse about the design and course of the game's meta. I don't wish to believe that they truly are trying to be dismissive over the community's opinion in regards to their decisions over the game's design. So I'm left wondering, if IGP's forum restructuring was to promote more constructive discourse of the game's state, then why remove the forum where some of the most thought out discussions regarding the game's design and implementation had been discussed?

Correction: in the original version of the OP I had mistakenly identified PGI as the source of the forum removals, when it was more than likely IGP's decision for it to be removed. I do apologize if I have misinformed anyone. If there are any further corrections to the original OP, then they will also be accounted for.

PGI personally hates you.
This is why they did it.

Somehow I highly doubt that theory. Besides that I am just trying to get my head around the need to remove the discussion over the game's design and balance?

The only important section they're missing is weapon balance in my opinion. Some of the others could also be combined.

Give feedback here and suggest it, I did: http://mwomercs.com/...fic-sub-forums/

yet another sad reshuffling of the forums in an attempt to hide the fact there plenty of upset players with the direction PGI has taken. By taking away the general forums area it spreads out the general hate. It'll keep new players in the dark longer and I'm sure PGI hopes to milk more money from a game that is going down faster than Debbie in Dallas.

It's IGP that does the forum and website stuff, not PGI.

I found a forum section that may be intended for this: MWO Universe / Barracks / Tactical Debriefing Room, described as "Want to discuss tactics? Had an amazing score? This is the place to share your war stories."

The orders are coming from PGI IMO. Looking at Russ's tweets/ comments elsewhere, I reckon he himself requested the change. IGP are just caught between a rock and and the hard heel of Russ's shoes.

Has it never struck you that IGP is PGI backwards? In one vid you can see Russ talking about owning the IP. Elsewhere you can read that IGP owns the IP. IGP is a mystery with no history. Here's all wikipedia can say about it,

"problems over locating a Publisher were resolved when a large group local to Piranha Studios, met and discussed joining forces. Once a way forward had been established, this local Group, who had been interested in developing and publishing such a title, created Infinite Game Publishing."

A large local group. What is that?

IGP + PGI = PIG, more or less. They are in lock-step with each other. They are the same, much evidenced by their identical callous treatment of MWO beta-testers.
