While GD did serve as a good way to see the general attitude trends of the community as a whole, threads like the Game Balance forum allowed for greater detailed discussion over specific issues of balance inside of the game. Many of my discussion that I had both read and participated in the Game Balance forum were much more technical and detailed then the typical ones in GD. The discussions were less passionate but better contemplated, and the more specific details of the game's design which would get lost in the passionate discussion where brought to light. Because of this the Game Balance forum had conducted some of the more constructive discourse about the design and course of the game's meta. I don't wish to believe that they truly are trying to be dismissive over the community's opinion in regards to their decisions over the game's design. So I'm left wondering, if IGP's forum restructuring was to promote more constructive discourse of the game's state, then why remove the forum where some of the most thought out discussions regarding the game's design and implementation had been discussed?
Correction: in the original version of the OP I had mistakenly identified PGI as the source of the forum removals, when it was more than likely IGP's decision for it to be removed. I do apologize if I have misinformed anyone. If there are any further corrections to the original OP, then they will also be accounted for.
