[Colonel Toast]

Good day all,

I'm currently trying to reinstall MWO and the installer is telling me I can't as I already have a version of the game installed, and to uninstall it before reinstalling, bear in mind that I HAVE uninstalled it, and deleted every file I could find under the names 'Piranha' 'MWO' 'Mechwarrior' etc. I have Piriform C-Cleaned it and made sure everything is gone, nevertheless it still gives me the same message.
How do I purge my system of it?
Please help me.

Did you uninstall properly or just manually delete the files?

I would suggest something is left in the registry, I'm at work so can't check cc cleaner required settings at this time

Hi there, thanks for the prompt reply.

As soon as you said it could be something in the registry it clicked and I went straight into the regedit program and deleted the 'piranha games' entry under Computer / HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software

Sorry mate, but this is a known issues
The best way is to reinstall windows
And make backup next time (for you all that didn't know yet, MWO can just be copy pasted and directly run without installing)

the company is **** if they make a broken installer and the only fix is to format your pc and reinstall windows and have no option for manuall install
