MGs are not a mech to mech weapon, so they don´t need to get fixed. They are fluff without infantry to use them on. Nothing more.

Just shut up.

Can we have less useless weapons and more real choices? Machine guns did real damage vs mechs. Why is it ok that machine guns remain useless when the AC/2 was improved twenty-fold and people were fine with it? There are mechs that need to have a real usable light weight ballistic to be any good.

It's a good thing the Unseen aren't in game since over half of them use machine guns or flamers, two of the most useless weapons in MW:O.

The best solution is to change the HP's in the lights that suffer from this.

The books state they do 2 damage to mechs with no penalties, same as an AC/2. You can't use the lore to justify your point while simultaneously ignoring the hard facts from the books.

I too am incapable of reading and understanding the number '2' in a damage table.

There are entire 'mechs built around MGs in the Solaris books designed to dual other 'mechs in 1v1 fights. Again, that's a canon MG boat designed to 1v1 'mechs. Any argument MGs aren't supposed to hurt 'mechs is invalid.*

* That said I enjoyed their re-balancing in Living Legends; they were almost as terrible as MW:O MGs in a 'mech fight, but they gained huge bonuses to infantry, aircraft, and light armor (like hovercrafts). They also gave them a non-canon range boost. I really don't care if you break canon if you do it for good reasons, and these were great reasons. MGs suddenly became an exceptional situational weapon. It's a shame that option is not available here, due to the lack of armor/aircraft/infantry.
