Anti Cheat

I would like to ask the Dev's what if any actions are they taking to stop this.
I'm not gonna run fraps full time on the chance I will catch one as posting it on forums just gets you a ban.
So I ask the skilled players out there to show the Dev's we need this.

Haven't run into a single aim bot yet, and I am staunchly opposed to all traditional anti-cheat systems. The only good one is VAC. Punkbuster just randomly executes people to make the pubs happy, while being circumvented entirely by anyone that actually wants to cheat.

I have it on good authority that some folks have run into aimbots right after seeing that yeti on the frozen city map. Some even claim to have been abducted and subsequently abused by those aimbots.

Seriously, it's not even difficult to pop someone at that range with a single shot, trivially easy if they stand still. I get one shot cockpittings even entirely accidentally fairly often with my highlanders.

Even I have done that myself. But its getting hit at that range (1km+) in CT or same location 2 or 3 times, while moving, from the same person, that it gets questionable. I can hit mechs with PPC/Gauss, even AC20's at 800m with ease but not always the same location. Out at 1km is where things get fuzzy in range, since you need to lead, and predict there going to get there to get hit by the shots.

At least if there was one, I might not get accused of aimbotting any more.

I do want them to do whatever they can to prevent hacks and cheating, but I also dislike punkbuster. It's like its own little rootkit, really, almost impossible to remove if you end up not playing games that need it or if it conflicts with something. Although I have not had problems with that recently, I remember maddening problems with it 5+ years ago.

Instantly assumes that anyone who doesn't think there is a cheating problem is cheating.
Not voting, but not mocking yet... waiting on poll to be fixed.

Hacking the client in MWO is much less useful, as the server doesn't really care where your client says you are.
That said, I'd imagine aimbots probably do exist... But I would put a large amount of hard cash down that 99% of the people who get accused of running aimbots aren't.
At 1km, i'll still hit CT on moving assaults most of the time, assuming they are more or less facing me (which is usually the case).
It's not hard at all, particularly now we have HSR going on. If I ignore "bad" shots, ones used for suppression or fired through or around cover, or at erratically moving fast targets? I'll put ballistic shells pretty much exactly where I want them.
Starting in river city at the dropship, I'll plug mechs at the opposing spawn point immediately: jump, pop erppc bolts into center torsos. They don't do a lot of damage at that range, but they do get people's attention.
I don't mean the above as bragging either. I'm decent, but there are very, very many people here far better than me.
So, if I find 1km shots reasonably simple, there's a whole lot of people who'll do much better.

Basically, he's trying to say there is an aimbotting community and this is the only way he can tell us. According to PGI, we cannot post the link to the website or post the conversation Historic had with PGI to say not only are they willing to ban for trying to prove there is an aimbotting community, but they are also willing to ban for posting a private conversation showing that PGI is unwilling to take action.
There are most definitely aimbotters in this game. To all those who think otherwise you're looking at the nature of any gaming community way too idealistically.

Pay cheats hurt competitive play, it's the real pay to win. I hope something will be done by PGI.
