Why on earth would you run only 2 er LLs and 3 srm6 in an atlas?

More tonnage for ammo, Artemis and heatsinks. It's just a question of what favours your playstyle. I had many a good game with a 2xLL and 3x Artemis IV SRM6 in my D-DC, since I found ballistics too hard to use with the netcode from where I live.

Whoa, mate calm down. People are reading what you posted but you aren't answering their questions. They're trying to help you troubleshoot what went wrong, and you aren't helping by posting the same thing over and over again.

Based on the limited information we do have, I am guessing your paperdoll didn't update correctly and you actually got hit twice in your CT rear. That's the only explanation I can see. 30 armour in your CT rear is pretty low especially given the AC20 and PPC builds out there. Also the hitbox locations are NOT intuitive. Go check this thread out And learn how to twist away from your weak areas (not that it will protect your crotch much)

Looks pretty clear from the original post. Seems some aren't trying to help as much as troll the XL question over and over. If he was indeed surrounded by the cover he referred to, he wouldn't have taken a shot in the back (normally). His paper doll backs up this assumption, indicating only arm and front CT damage.

If the Jager did shoot twice (LOL @ that post) the ammo/XL issue is still irrelevant. Neither would have gone internal. Even a dual AC/20 hit to a rear torso shouldn't have killed his engine, XL or not. You have to destroy that internal structure entirely and he had more structure than the 20's would've destroyed. Pretty sure he'd know if he got hit twice with those.

Given the info, the Jager would've needed at least 2 more volleys on his front to get into crits. Had no ammo in the torso so I can't think of anything that could've one-shotted his back. He said he died from the first shot. This points to a possible problem with how damage got assigned. Even if he was incorrect, it would point to an issue with the paper doll not displaying what it should.

Can't resist:
I was the second Jagermech on the Grassy Knoll.

There is definitely a problem with how damage is allocated. I've had four deaths and one kill in the last couple days resulting from damage hitting a part of a mech that it could not have hit. Shot square in the front, died to or recieved damage on rear armor, tried to shield damage RT with LA only for shots on my LA to somehow damage RT, shots in the rear taking out or damaging front side torso armor.

The directional damage in this game is definitely not working right all the time, though I personally have never died while having full armor remaining.

It's not really directional damage... it's actually HSR...

There was no ammo explosion, he didn't hit my head, he didn't even get through my EXTERIOR armor.

I call bs.

what did the screen say you actually died from,

This is the key question OP - as yet unanswered - and all your repetitive posting about what the known to be completely buggy paperdoll showed is irrelevant.
