81% of Assault matches end because of destroying the other team.
19% end by Capping.
Of that 19%, 26% of Cap matches end with the losing team having 7 deaths.
1.2% of Assault matches end with 0 Deaths.
So, contrary to forum QQ... Capping is not happening all the time.

Not necessarily. 26% of 19% = 5% of all caps are end of round captures. When the wining team says f it im not chasing this light around the map and caps.
So 14% of matches end in caps at some point between the start and finish.

Seems like - based on facts - Assault is working pretty well, with a capture win not being really that common.

Which makes all the screaming about capping that much more amusing.

Yup. Real facts should ease some of the "we need TDM NAO!!!" crowd too.. since Assault..81% of the time.. is TDM.
edit: Sadly, having the data won't stop the "capwarrior" threads, or the "we need TDM" threads..because people will just say PGI is making up the numbers and lieing to us.

You are ignoring that in the 81% of matches that do not end in a cap win/lost, a percentage of those matches the team being capped were able to return to base to prevent a cap win, then win the match by killing all enemy mechs, or lost the match by the enemy doing the same. So in those games, capping did take place. They just weren't completed.

Nope. It's the right post.
19% of Assault matches ended in a completion of the cap.
81% of Assault matches ended with all mechs destroyed on one team.
Of that 81%, a percentage of them has one team or the other begin a cap, but was unable to complete it, or decided to finish the match by fighting. All I'm saying is that the 19% does not reflect cap attempts, only cap completions.

So, some random % of 81%.. people used tactics, didn't just blob rush, and attempted to meet the match objectives, Is that what you're saying?

And that has to do with what I said...how? I'm really confused.

people defended their base successfully while destroying the enemy.
They did it right regardless of what the enemy team did.
And in the other 19% the team that got capped failed to prevent it and was therefore at fault for being capped either through failing to properly address teh threat or being dead because of being outfought or some combination of the two.
seems perfect to me.

Truth.
When in my Cicada, I regularly sneak past the enemy line and run through their cap. I have no desire to cap win; it's just an invitation for one or two of them to come chase me around for a few minutes while my teams cleans up their brawlers.

Yep! And some of those are GREAT games. But sometimes it's just... *sigh* OK. Base under attack. I gotta run back to chase away the capper because I'm the closest or the fastest and I'm going to miss the furball of a fight.

The QQ over capping is part of the larger QQ over light mechs. No one likes things they have trouble hitting. Base capping and speed are the only advantages we have out there.

Yep. Especially when someone is piloting a slow moving and slow turning assault mech. So let's have a mode where an assault pilot can enjoy playing his assault mech and go mix it up with other assault mechs without having to worry about losing to a cap before the fight is over. Or are you so selfish that it you are unable to allow assault pilots have their fun at bashing each other to smithereens?

The fact that you said this and meant it makes me weep for humanity.
You're like a pitcher who cusses at a batter who just hit a home run.
"STOP PLAYING THE WAY YOU WANT AND START PLAYING THE WAY I WANT! Selfish jerks!!! It's not fun when you hit home runs, nerf home runs, buff strikes!!"
