I just really find it annoying that betty auto targets an enemy if It's available for targeting as soon as I look at it. This is quite annoying when running mechs with guided missiles as I prefer to target my enemies manually when I want to which doesn't work very well when betty decides to target something just as I'm about to target it, meaning I will un-target the target instead and loose precious lock-on time.
And I really don't want to target a mech and lock onto it at 700m and get the view clogged up with lock on markers just cause I'm loaded with a streak or two while trying to hit said target with my primary long range weaponry. being able to turn off auto targeting would avoid a lot frustration and help you feel more in control of your targets for those who prefer that.
tldr: Can we get the option for manual targeting instead of automatic?

Also, when I play a mech that is fast, I like to shoot at a completely different, non-targeted mech before I decide to target one.
I agree, this would be a nice, simple, option.
Poll please.

I'm not even sure what you are talking about.
Most recently I was playing an LRM mech, and if I didn't go manually target an enemy myself, nothing was ever targted. So either my allies never looked at an enemy mech (a disctinct possibily), every enemy mech we encountered had ECM (another possibility), or there is no auto-target.
