Just to highlight how bad flamers are:

In a tourmaline conquest game our last guy was a jenner with 2 flamers and 2 streaks. The surviving enemy light was a standard 3L. If the jenner had medium lasers he could have at least put up a fight, but since he had flamers he was utterly defenseless, and we lost the game because of it.

Flamers are borked, and if they ever make them work correctly then people will keep opponents in a state of perma-shutdown which leads to other issues, so they'll always be borked.

However, Flamers are less borked than Machine Guns and I see a lot of people who "waste" 1.5-3.0 tons of space mounting them and I largely scoff at those players. I'd scoff less at someone using Flamers. You just don't see them around.

I'm not one to tell people how to play. I figure Darwin is alive and well in these games and if someone opts to play in a sub-optimal way, they'll perform sub-optimally and eventually quit. It's not up to me to rant at them. I figure they can have whatever kind of fun floats their boat.

I don't pity them or treat them any nicer. When that guy walks up to me, Machine Guns blazing, I put the AC10's right in his face - or maybe rip his legs off, one by one.

No need to run two flames. Flamers produce more heat for the user than the target and 1 flamer obscures enough alone. You can add a TAG if you want to support your mates or mlaser for consistant damage.

This^^

2x flamers make you run SOOOOO much hotter and don't add more heat to your target than if you were just using one. That TAG will also let you light up ECM lights and get your streaks on them.

(disclaimer: I think your build is nutty, but play however you have fun. Haters gonna hate.)

Flamers have no point in this game, yet. Help your teammates out and equip a tag or a laser weapon in that slot.

I was about to chastise the OP but then I remembered I too used to troll people with my terrible 9x Flamer HBK-4P - I think it's fine as long as you're just doing it for kicks and giggles and -know- that 'Mech build is objectively bad. ;)
