I like the design of the Stick, but ...

No! I will not buy it.

Reason 1:
Force Feedback - Some say it is the greatest invention since chewing gum, but I don't like it. It doesn't help you ingame if your stick gets rocked left and right and upside down. It doesn't even help for immersion anymore, because a control-by-wire system shouldn't be connected to any mechanical parts. The only one rocking the stick when you get shook is you yourself and you cannot simulate that without a force feedback chair. It is additional parts that can brake. It feels horrible when force feedback is off.

Reason 2:
Wrong Manufacturer - Just because Razor is building sometimes good gaming keyboards, mouses, headset and whatnot, doesn't mean they are good for joysticks. I will give them a little room there, and wait what different reviews and the first year of gaming with that stick will show the world, but I will not use or buy a multiple hundred bucks worth of control equipment just because it looks good. Logitech or Thrustmaster (I prefer Thrustmaster) wouldn't have to earn my trust, because they did so in the past with some of the finest joysticks on the market and continued to do so up until today.

I am really happy they're trying to do this, but I think Razer is a horrible company that makes crappy overpriced products. I would have been much more content to see this from Logitech but Razer as a company is much more likely to dive into something like this.

That being said, I would still consider it to support MWO but I already have a HOTAS Warthog and doubt Razer's offer would be as nice.

What are the chances it comes at a discounted price if we buy the Elite Founders pack?

I think it is important to remember this... The controller for Steel Battalion was built for that game and the game was built for that controller.

This is likely not the case with MWO. The game will be built and tested with a mouse and keyboard first and foremost.

Cool concept. Definitely willing to buy this if it's a solid product.

P.S. Allowing the HUD to function as a normal secondary monitor outside of games would be awesome.

And by the way, no throttle? Whats up with that!?

There is... it's the small slider **** thingy between the screen and the buttons.

EDIT: LMAO at stupid censorship!

I voted 'no'. It is a cool concept, and if money was no object I might go for it (pending reviews), but I just purchased a $50 HOTAS system from Thrustmaster which I am pleased with so far. Between the dedicated display and the force-feedback tech I expect this to be a much, much more expensive system: I am guessing $299 minimum, and it could easily be a couple hundred dollars more depending on overall quality of components. That is too rich for my blood at the moment: if I have $300+ sitting around that I can spend on upgrades, I will be getting a new video card first :P

Discounted price will likely still be in the 250+$/€ price range, so no thanks lol.

Never saw the appeal to use joysticks or steering wheels for any kind of simulation games, the mouse & keyboard does their job just as well if not better, improved aiming, controls and more keys to work with.

No, I've had build quality issues with Razer in the past. The left click and mousewheel on my Deathadder started dying on me. Turns out a lot of people has the same issues. I swapped up to a G300 and am very satisfied.

While the Razer controller looks cool. I don't think I would trust it enough. Plus the mouse provides superior aiming.

I would highly recommend people interested in that controller look up Steel Battalion:Heavy Armor for Xbox Kinect.

We'll see. There's still no real concrete information about this thing: Will the pieces be sold in modular segments? center screen a touch screen? Throttle? Foot Pedals? Build quality? Price is also a HUGE factor, even though I'm sure I could come up with the money [the kids don't REALLY need to eat, do they?] But until we wee something concrete, I'll reserve judgement.

Razer quality control is also going to be an issue here. I use razer gear. I like their products, but I've taken back no fewer than 6 lycosa keyboards before settling on a mionix mechanical [and inheriting a black widow ultimate from my son, who went back to his merc stealth??? /shrug ] I've also replaced 2 razer nagas for clicking issues [either uber fast double click or no registered click]. Mind you, both of those were first gen runs, I have yet to have issues with my naga molten [over a year old] or my wife's naga hex [which I'm not fond of the design of anyway. . but it's not mine ; ) ]

The biggest thing here is HOW MUCH FUNCTIONALITY IS REPLACED by this thing? can I completely remove my keyboard and mouse? With the screen be a well functioning touch pad screen that augments main screen action? [IE, radar or damage display in combat, touch screen selector for weapons loadout in the mech bay] If I have to have a keyboard and mouse connected in addition to this thing to DO ANYTHING in the game. . . its value drops tremendously.I already own a saitek X52, and I'm looking at [more dreaming of] something like the Hotas warthog. Why juggle this with keyboard and everything else when I can add simple pieces I already have or can get for less money?

Just my $.02

Everyone is saying they're disappointed, and how they 'should have released mech 12'.

If they did a 1 week countdown to release a single mech, you guys would have been just as pissed, if not more.

That said, I'll buy one if the price isn't way more than competitors.

No. I'd rather build my own, honestly - I've always wanted to.

I was already planning on building a controller box using my Anduino, so probably not. It looks cool though.

the controller itself is pretty cool... but nonetheless useless for pilot who are used to a mouse...
also and even more important... its quite a lot easier to target with mousemovent thn while a joystick

therefore... won't buy it...

This is still just a concept on someone's computer over at Razer. They would be wise to post on these forums and ask for our feedback.

Meh. Depends on how they balance the reticle/torso speed.

It'll cost an absolute bucket load of cash, and just won't be worth it tbh. Even if it was reasonably priced it would be touch and go for me. Seems like the kind of thing you'd stop using when you remembered mouse and keyboard was more accurate.

No! This kind of marketing stunt has me seriously reconsidering my previous decision to buy the Elite Founders package. If I decide not to buy the Founders package, I'll likely just skip this MW game all together.

Before anyone asks why, I'll tell you. It's because all this hype to promote a product by another company that you just happened to have consulted on says PG is more interested in publicity stunts than putting out a good game. Sure these kinds of stunts draw in a few more players at the beginning, but most of them will be less likely to spend money on the game itself and/or stick around for any length of time. However, a good game would draw in a LOT more over the long haul and keep them around and actually paying for stuff.

No-one in their right mind is going to fork over the kind of money this controller will sell for if the full functionality of it only works with one game.

To put it bluntly, this marketing stunt pretty much shattered my faith in PG.

Seriously? Bet you think man never landed on the moon either. You worry way too much about unseen motives.
