So muich to weigh in buying something like this. How good will Mechwarrior Online be? How much would Razer charge for something like this? $200? $300?

Have to admit it looks inttriguing. I absolutely love the Mechwarrior series but so far I haven't seen much about MWO. Show me something that makes me want to buy all this stuff with hard earned cash and I'll go from there...

Asking people if they are going to buy an unknown piece of HW without knowing the price...Making a poll about it...

How many could really say yes?

The poll looks like a good setup against PGI, to make the controller and it's adoption look bad for PGI, that's cool of you.
That's one way to frame words and a poll to help make sure the controller doesn't get made.

How many could really say yes?

People have to think before making topics, there are consequences to your words and actions.
How many could really say yes to your question as logical reasonable people?
Nice poll.

Not sure if I would buy it. Really depends on how much I can play MWO and if it has a Z-axis (A MUST HAVE) for torso turning. Oh and the price. But if I really have time to play MWO and enjoy it alot. I can see myself getting it.

The average halflife of my past joysticks can not even begin to compete with any of the mice I had to date. The price is just another deterrent, a huge one at that. That said, 400 bucks would get me a decent Geforce, mouse and keyboard. It's not even a close call ...

Won't buy it, simply because i can't justify the expense (anything with a display on it is probably outta my price range lol). That said, i think its a cool idea that i've never seen from another F2P game.

will the games modes for this be used otherwise like if i had a small 10 in touch screen monitor could i set it up like that screen on the controler? i already got a joystick and numberpad just want to know if we can use any screen for the map setting.

EDIT dont want the joystick because my joystick has more buttons and i already have it. No need to buy something i already have. Also is it modular can i just get the screen if i cant use my touch i might do that.

Even if this were $20 and have absolutely phenomenal build quality, I would not buy this.

The module on the left is a glorified USB numpad.
The joystick is lackluster in buttons and options. One button, one trigger, a (likely 8 direction) nub and a D-pad. It's adjustable and has rumble, but those two don't excuse the lack of... everything else.
If the screen isn't touch it's useless. Would you honestly look down from your monitor to see the same information that's displayed on your monitor's HUD? The only way the screen could be redeemable is if you could ping or draw on the minimap and form a strategy and initiate tactics. Otherwise the screen is actually detrimental.

The only useful thing about this is the throttle.

The whole teaming up with a peripheral company to deliver a concept is really cool, but the execution is quite the opposite.
And no, this isn't going to cost $20. I'd be surprised if it didn't cost more than 10x that amount.
I can see where fans would want to use a joystick and throttle to aid with immersion (hell, I've played most of my MW's with a joystick) but the fact is that you can get better elsewhere for significantly cheaper.

I honestly would've preferred if the Artemis was just the IS rediscovering the Artemis IV FCS. That's saying a lot because a week-long wait for a LoS-dependant fire control system is a bit silly.

As much as I would love to have one, my gaming budget is extremely limited, so it's a no-go for me.

I WOULD buy it, if it WASENT made by Razor. Razor is widly known for poor quality and poor workmanship. if it was a Lotitech product or a fe wothers id be all over it like a Leach on a major artery

It's cool and I like the idea of the screen, but I'm going to guess it won't be cheap, and I would probably be happier buying a Thrustmaster Warthog and a rudder pedal set for what'll probably end up being the same amount of money (~$500).

On that end, if this were made by Thrustmaster without the screen, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Depends on the price. I may be willing to drop 200, but much more and I can't really justify it, even with the screen. It's simply too Niche. But damn do I want it.

I associate Razer as making high performance, but low quality products. I liked what they offered, but I have owned five of their products and all of them broke or stopped working in less than one year. I take pretty good care of my stuff, and their products are more expensive than most, so I'm pretty much unwilling to buy anything they make, no matter how cool it looks. If they got a better vendor, like Madcatz, to manufacture this, then I would be interested.

If the price of this is a lot, NO. A lot would be much over a $100 for me.

I like that the joystick is force-feedback, and the inclusion of a display screen is nice, but that little slider is a sad excuse for a throttle (especially for a product as large as this). It's described as a "prototype," so swap the useless keypad out for a real throttle and maybe...

The G940 still seems to be the best H.O.T.A.S. right now (force-feedback, dual-throttle, and pedals).

Definitely need to see more information. Price, especially - this looks like it could be quite expensive compared to my other options. I'm not entirely convinced I'll need/want *any* joystick rig for this game right now. I'll also need/want to know what it's actually capable of and what it "brings to the table".

That said, what they *have* shown, does definitely look cool.

Hell yes. Unless it is some ridiculous price.
