So, played a smattering of mechs and the Catapult is by far my favorite chassis, currently have a C1 and a K2, have all the basics for the other two as well. But the plot thickens.

I use an XL295 between the two Cats, which is a nice 80.9kph after tweak, but would an upgrade to a 315 be worth the cost? I'm planning on buying a second Cataphract soon; or a Hunchback, or a Jager, too many choices!

I guess I'm just unsure of what to grind out first? any suggestions would help!

315 is worth it. Speedy XL is always useful.

Or you can purchase 310 XL if you want your Stalkers to mount it in addition to the Catas.

Oddly enough, I run the 300XL in my C1, and the 280XL in my K2.

If you don't already have one, 300XL is a very useful engine size. 15.5 tons and up to 12 internal heat sinks, what more can you want?

With the exception of a 280 I would always stick to engine sizes that contain that extra heat sink slot. So starting at 280 which weighs the same as a 275, go 300, 325, 350 etc. Though my catapults all run 315s due to free weight for engine increases.

Thanks for the advice, I might just go for a 300 and share it with a Jager/Awesome. Been trying to pick up engines that I can use in the widest range of builds.

I typically run XL300s. They're the best engine IMO, since they have a superb balance of weight and features.

There is no decision. The XL300 is the best engine for Catapults, all of them, and actually one of the best all round engines in the game. Assuming you have the side torsos for it of course.

Go forth Catapult warrior, and ditch that XL295 for an XL300. I'm not sure if you'll really notice the difference, but your karma will be much improved.

I run a 255XL in my C1(F) and K2 and pack lots of big guns.
