How come I can solo drop for about 3 solid hours of casual pugging, and yet 9 out of 10 games per hour I drop in and the other team is completely full with 8 players, and there's still like 3-5 slots on my team.

I load maps very quickly on this PC, and it's kinda obvious every single round what is about to happen. Very predictable outcomes take place when you drop in and the enemy team is already full but yours is only half full, with randoms trickling in.

It's like this almost every single game I play solo, yet when I drop in a group it's the other way around. Hmmm, this isn't rocket science...

I've noticed an increase in this since they put in the lances.

When it's displaying the OPFOR, it doesn't have to display who is in what lance on your screen so it fills in the whole 8 rapidly, but for your team, it's still resolving who's in what lance for you.

That is, if I understand what your saying correctly, you're kind of all over the place in your post.

I mean today, specifically, it's been like I join a game and the map loads very quick and I am the 3rd or 4th person on my team with 4 or 5 slots open.

The enemy team is almost ALWAYS full with all 8 slots taken by players.

Ok, so is that how your dropping, or just as the teams are filling up?
I guess what I'm asking is are you dropping short players? or is it just taking longer to fill your team?

It`s the same for me, regardless of whether I drop singly on in a group of 2 or 3. So a bro and I tried something yesterday, we synch-dropped, and ended up on opposing teams.

Guess what: BOTH of us saw the other team as full and our as half empty.

So I`m going with Roadbeer that it`s probably usually the server resolving the mechs to display, at least until I hear something official to the contrary. I don`t doubt there are matches that spend an extra minute or 2 finding someone to fill a slot, but I think that`s probably more exception than rule. :D

VERY helpful information I really appreciate this a lot - it makes a lot more sense than some of the crazy things I was started to conjure up to explain this.

Everyone else I had mentioned this to in passing on TS was saying the exact same thing, butthen again everyone I asked was also doing the tourny.

So at one point I was thinking it had to do with the tourny and some sort of new elo/mm stress testing thing PGI was doing. 15, 16 hours of straight solo pugging makes you start imagining things I suppose.
