Looking at the current leaderboard the user Koreanese is dominating in both the medium and heavy bracket and looks like he is going to get several prizes at the end. Now I have nothing against him winning multiple times, good on him for playing so well, It does make me feel that as long as there are players like him around its futile for me to even try to place in the tournament.

I would love to see some kind of consolation prize for just taking part in the tournament. Some small C-bill reward such as: Tournament Score x 250 cbills. Say I end up having a best score over the entire tournament of 600, I would walk away with 150,000 C-Billl prize. Not an amazing amount of money, but enough that It would entice people to take part and get on and play.

Obviously my Score x 250 is just a number I threw out randomly and would need to be balanced properly, however would you like a consolation prize in some shape or form?

Edited for incorrect math >_<

What Medium are you using? I can't even get HALF of your score.

It's crazy.

My guess is a 4P.

In any case I also voted yes considering the amount of effort a lot of people are putting in to get on the boards.

Idea is good, but I would make it way that you need to get some fixed score(ex. 600) and after it was reached give some fixed participation reward (ex. 500K C-bills/Spring clean up banner etc.) it would attract more players that consider themselves as casuals and make tournament's more popular across the community :P

I say we need a banner/cockpit item for every tournament we entered, and up the real prizes.

Ive given up myself, im just playing my fav little 4x raven and not really worrying about the torney anymore, the prizes outside of the final one are all normal everyday purchasable items.

A banner saying I got shafted and placed in a lance solo, is what I want as a consolation prize.

Definitely needs to be a bunch more minor prizes, at least for 2nd and 3rd.

These contests are broken since players are synch dropping to create "solo" 4+ man teams and the team is allowing individuals to boost there scores by allowing one person to do most of the damage to the enemy mechs.

All the team has to do is allow one person to shoot up one or two disabled or DC'ed mech and that person scores 1200 damage a match. There is play footage all over the net showing this occurring.

If you feel the need to defend your accomplishment when no one has even accused you of cheating then maybe you are feeling guilty?

If I wanted to play 200 rounds to try and get a 1200 damage score 5 or 10 times to place in the top 3 of the leader board I would. The sheer fact that the leader board can be manipulated invalidates the entire competition.

To have a "solo" competition that relies on team play/work is completely idiotic in the second place. Having to play those "200" rounds against others who are synch dropping with buddies and/or actual 4 mans to try and work the system is why I don't care to invest the time.

That's great you play 24x7 to do so and if you are not cheating the system more power to you kld. The system is still broken irregardless and with the recent nerds to various weapons systems those of us who don't want to jump snipe to get 1200+ damage a round just don't give a **** either.

lol. im a grown *** man sir, do not call me a kid. only reason why im taking the medium as well as heavy is to show people I don't need jumpjets to win. so I am using 4P to take the medium. if you think 1200+ dmg cant be done in a medium. maybe you should re look at your playstyle. here, take a look at my training videos that helps lot of newer players. its HERE

Nah, no prizes if you don't win. This isn't PeeWee Football where you get a trophy and a pat on the head for looseing EVERY GAME. No, if you want a ******* prize, earn it.

Yeah.... sync'ing 4 people in solo drop is next to impossible. Never seen it done. Oh sure, I've seen 1-2 people get together, 50% of the time on the opposite team. Play to win, sir. Get better, and you'll get higher. Helll, I was 8th last night, but went to bed and now 15th. Do I want a prize? No, I want to do better, so I'm going to jump back in before I head out to work and crush some skulls.

To Bellatormonk:

Dude, even if you get teamates, get lucky and have 2 discos on the other side, get to those discos before anyone else, shoot them to ribbons slowly to have a lot of damage done while your teamates cover your ***, and leech assists... You will get what, 2 kills, 1000 damage, 3 assists?

Your cheating method is overly complex, dependant on sooo many outside factors it's not even funny, aaaaand it does not generate enough points to make you win.

Go ahead, try it. You won't win.

(EDIT added little statistical analysis)

If we approximate chance:
to sync-drop 4 people in the same game to 1/50
to have them all on the same team (50% three times) to 1/8
To have 2 discos on the other side to 1/25
To succeed in your gimmicks to 1/2
And to win the match anyways and survive (to max points) to 1/2

(I've been generous on the probabilities of each one happening)

The probability of all of those happening in the same match are 1 out of 40 000.
Now on average, getting those 5 times would require 200 000 matches.

If you can do that in 24 hours reliably, hats off.

It's funny I have not even accused any one particular person of cheating to gain top leader board, yet I hear constant denial and defense of the contest. To top it off I am being told to try harder to win and I am not even trying to play it.

The point is the system is broken and it is being manipulated. I will say again, hats off to the people playing 24x7 and getting that 1200 point game every 50 tries against the synch droppers and 4 mans.

Synch dropping 4+ people is not that hard obviously as when I drop solo I can see the same 25 people in the matches. Koreanese being one of the people I see most often during these competitions. All it takes is people with similar ELOs at the same time frame.
