Unless you buy the unlimited pattern. At least that's how I understand it.
If you're in the habit of changing your patterns more than once, this is useful.

That being said, they have always had a HORRID ui for most things out of game, its getting better but does need some work.

My suggestion would be to take a few minutes to explain (politely) what you thought you were purchasing and what you did purchase. Then send it to the support alias (support@mwomercs.com.) The more information they get, the easier it is for them to prioritize were changes need to be made. In general crying in forums is only good for trolling, if you want anything useful you will need to contact support.
Good luck!

I wonder if you have to buy the single use camos for different maps over and over again if you want to use them on more than one map. I think that would make the permanent unlocks a lot more attractive.

Only problem with that is the fact that camo is almost useless for actually hiding your mech from the enemy.

really? I quite rather understand it to mean Unlimited for that Chassis.

Let's see.... it says "JAGERMECH DAZZLE" unlock....... so obviously, if I unlock Jagermech Dazzle, that means it should work on my Atlas too, RIGHT?!??!?!?!
Read before you leap. ZThe fault is yours, not theirs.
As for the use of Unlimited? Simple. You buy single use, you get one pattern, one time, for that ONE variant of the Mech Chassis. You wan't to use that pattern on another variant? You buy again. OK... so 3-5 Mechs using that pattern doesn't justify 750Cbills...right? Until you decide on a whim to change the pattern on it to something else, you get bored, and you want it AGAIN. And Again, and Again.
If you are a one time, one variant only kind of guy, it makes no sense. If you repaint with any regularity, or change units with differing colors and patterns, then it makes a lot of sense.

Really? Does anyone have a source for that. That is a feature I've been thinking about and hoping could be put in in the future. I have neglected to buy any camo till now because it looks especially ridiculousness when you're rocking your arctic paintjob in the forest or your forest paintjob in the desert. It just looks ridiculous.
Allowing different camo based on map would make me very happy. (And more likely to buy MC bills).

If you dont like the price dont pay it basically.
Its made clear the camo is per class its not PGI's fault you didnt read up first.

Camo is far more than just a vanity item IMO. There is a clear tactical advantage to having your mech blend into the background. Granted, this only really works with an ECM unit nearby or having that module equipped.

Most people who buy patterns don't just buy a pattern and leave it that way for eternity. They buy a different pattern and try that. Then they buy another one and see what reaction that gets. Hell, getting reactions from other players is half the fun of colors and patterns. It is far more economical to buy a pattern you like for unlimited usage on a certain 'Mech than it would be to keep buying single-use ones after trying something new.

It's permanent on that one mech, UNTIL you change it. So yeah, if you have a scheme you like and such, go for it. But if you ever change it, it's gone for good.

Ah I see. I am reasonably certain that there is only one set I like anyway so I will have a look tonight. Generally once I get set on something, I don't change it easily. For 75MC that's not as bad a deal as I first thought. Cheers mate.

Ask the Devs 32
A: Yes. We’re planning to add this with upcoming DropShip capabilities.
I could imagine that for each preset you would have to buy one single use camo each, so you are able to drop with a camo on each of the different maps, otherwise you drop with green standard camo. That way they could milk people for their MC and the price for permanent camo patterns would seem less steep.

I prefer to run the 'newbie green' so I don't stand out. I love finding someone who's invested real money in making themselves a clearer target. "Oh, that's the same Red & White Atlas that I worked the leg down to orange on. I'll just pluck that leg immediately, before my targeting computer even has to remind me to..."
All that said, if paint were universal (so the mechanics in my Mech Bay didn't just build shelves of paint only for one Mech) I'd buy into it. Patterns I don't mind unlocking - but there are TOO many paint colors and they're all outrageously expensive for casual players...
I've gladly dropped $170 on the game so far with every intent to continue in $50 increments, and you'll never catch me buying Paint, Decals, Interior Items, and Patterns for the costs they are now. I'd start considering it if it were 1/3 of what it is and I'd probably start buying it at 1/4 of the cost that it is - and then ONLY if it were all permanent and swappable.

You already traded $170 real dollars for their imaginary Disney dollars (MC). They don't care what you spend your MC on or even if you spend it. They already have your hard currency while you're left with currency that can only be spent in their store.
