A simple redesign of the class Crab battlemech. I made the design blockier than the original along with a few proportional changes to have it fit better with the MWO art style.

Modeled, rigged, and textured in roughly 60 minutes using Lightwave.

Cool! Fast work man would like to see you dump more time into and put in tons of detail.

A rudimentary walk cycle. I shortened the bars on the legs, as whoever made the original TT miniature forgot that these things need to move.

That walking animation looks really cool.

Why not go completely FD's style? He's already drawn the Crab:

Although it would take much more time, obviously.

Oh, I didn't see that one had been made. I kept searching for redesigns but didn't have any luck. Since the model is still missing some details I can try and pull some from FD's work.

I *really* like the design of the arms on the one on the right, and the torso of the one on the left. It looks much better than the old school design IMHO.

Hmm. Well the one on the right is a King Crab, so I might do one of those at some point.

THAT CRAB'S A SPY!

I like the crab torso and animation, but for some reason the arms look out of place to me. Too long, maybe? Idk. Good work though. :P

Looking good! Apparently I'm subscribed to you on DeviantArt, because I just saw this in my deviations not 5 min ago. Small world. :P

Thanks. Yeah, the mech itself has some pretty wacky proportions. The standard legs aren't even physically possible as their pieces are so big it would collide with the side torsos when they moved.

I'm just that popular and well known! Okay, maybe not.

Although I might be potentially changing the subject a bit with the following screencaps, I find that MekTek's Crab from MW4 Mercs fits MWO's style pretty closely:

It features a lot more sharp angles than the classic version, like all of the mechs currently in-game.
