Internal Structure is calculated as 50% of the MAXIMUM amount of armor that can be added to the component.

I'm not sure this is exactly right. I know that a gausscat (2 gauss rifles) can't head shot a fully healthy mech (18 head armor + internals), but a cheesecat (2 AC 20s) can. 18 head armor + 50% for internals would be 27, so apparently its not 50%, otherwise 30 damage from 2 gausses would do the trick. 40 damage is enough tho, so its somewhere between 12 and 22 internal structure for the head - between 66% and 122% of max head armor. Maybe head is treated differently, but from my experience playing internal structure is about same (100%) of max armor for each location.

The head is totally the exception to the rule. There is 18 pts of internal head armor, but the rest is 50% of max possible armor for the location.

That's why getting shut down is such a death sentence: It's not just that they can hit you, it's that they can take time to hit you for full discharges right in the exact spot.

There is something I need to test also, I want to try a build with lot of damage at once and wait for the moment they power up to alpha and make them to shut down again. Not sure if there is something preventing abusing this though.

Even with all-at-once weapons it's hard to get targeted shots on a skilled moving target.

Yeah, bring in a 8x scope for those long range lasers so we can better aim the tiny light spots.

Anyway, I just thought I should let you know, esp. if you played other MW

Never layed any other, or if one it was a long time ago that I cannot remmber which and it was for a short period of time.

I think all mech have 18 max armor possible on head so with 18 internal it make a total of 36? 4xLPL right on head = instant kill? I tried aiming at head a few times with a laser sweeping left and right and looking at the doll on screen and I had a really hard time to hit that small headbox. But that's the way it should be I think, otherwise there would be too many headshots.

Do we know what % of damage is transferred to the internal armor with shots from the frontside once the external armor is breached from the backside?

Honestly there should be no transfer. Front/Rear Internals are just internals with no front/rear. Even on torsos. There's only the separation of front and rear external armor.

Internal structure is the skeleton of the mech. If I were to stab you, yes I have to pierce your front or back but in the end, does it really matter where I stabbed you? The blade is inside your body. The external armor is the skin. Once you pierce the skin, front or back no longer matters.
