:Plols lotsa bad players voted no hahaha :D :D

some of us don't need to stare at a number to know that we are skilled. why do i care if anyone knows how many kills i get? all that matters is whether i can kill them here and now.

i voted yes on the win/loss because it is the only one that encourages team play. the others got very clear no votes, because i don't want to spend all of my time every game putting morons in their place.

I voted no but as long as you are willing to pay 6000mc for your arrogance I will tolerate it.

I'll vote yes only if I can have an audio track playing anytime someone kills me or I kill them detailing the likely personality disorders involved with needing justification of ones self worth in a video game.

I paint my kills on the shoulders my Mech using the blood of my fallen foes... so I'm good.

I voted yes to all.

It is another vanity cockpit item that people will by for MC. It has no impact on the game it is just a fun little item no different than the mech statues, holo faction icons or hula girl.

The OP does not deserve this trolling in this thread. It was a simple honest suggestion, no less legitimate than the Lotax guys asking for a bird bobble head.

The only epeens I see being waving around are by the morons bashing the suggestion. If it really did not matter you would either simply vote your opinion or pass by the thread with out commenting.

I think the concern is more the proliferation of cheese-builds, kill stealing over contribution and so forth. For those who live most of their MWO life in 4 or 8 man drops(and it is mostly 4 man in clans) the whole KD thing is a bit of a joke(getting you KDR into high double digits is not hard with pug-stomping... getting your KDR into the green while really acting in the best interests of your team can be a challange in PUGs... and no, 'duh, I just kills everyone with my uberskillz' isn't doing the best for your team if you get capped out... that's called losing).

So No to KDR... yes to killcount(per mech would make it even better).

no it would not be cool. also these stats mean virtually nothing, you can win every match you play, having died 10 seconds after the start. and guess what, people would gloat about their win ratio even though they were always the shittest player on the team.
on the flipside you could lose every match you play but manage to preserve your kd ratio by cowardly shutting down each time. again being the worst player on the team but still gloating how high your kd ratio is.
its a bad idea through and through. all it will do is encourage elitism which is precisely why mw4 failed.
please people, stop calling for stats to be made public, it will only harm the community and the gameplay, am i the only one who sees that?

Win / loss - perhaps.

Kill - death - no, it's a meaningless statistic unless you only take part in 100% fair duels. The reality is that 1 kill could be just doing the last 1 point of damage or it could be doing 100% of the damage, and it could have been important to the team's victory or it could have been useless. But the kill stat doesn't care and assigns them all the same value.

i like your idea even if its a little bit straight forward, would you consider adding an item representing your k:d ratio ? what if you had a d.i.l.d.o. on your dashboard, the bigger the k:d the bigger the d.i.l.d.o.

now if you would see someones dashboard with a massive d.i.l.d.o. bouncing left and right, i think you would get an idea that you dont want to mess with this guy!

they also could come in different colours and textures, the more the merier

A better idea would be to get rid of KDR entirely. KDR is responsible for players not playing the game correctly because they try to pad their stats by kill stealing or powering down and avoiding death.

I don't think a K/D meter would be good for MWO. The game heavily emphasizes teamplay, with assists being worth more C-bills than kills, among other things. One example would be the dedicated scout for a team; if he dies figuring out where, his opponents are, but that information won the match for his team, that "0/1" would seem like chastizing him for not getting kills. Then there are spotting and NARC assists, destroyed components, etc.; a lot of things that are valuable, not just kills.

It also doesn't make sense for the Last Man Standing kind of setup that MWO has already. Why bother showing deaths if you can only die once per match? While these stats might really be meaningless to people who know how the game works, this sort of publicly-displayed emphasis would send new players the completely wrong message.

PGI cant get the basics of the game working properly let alone get a Lobby ,Clan tech, CW out the door and you want them to was their time on a hologram of K/D ratio. Find some other way to stroke your ego.

There is time for this after those features are implemented, and a change like this wouldn't take as long as other things. That said, I still don't agree with the original suggestion. :D

A hologram that shows 87.5% Accuracy with Medium Laser, with the number across a little rotating laser?

I might buy that...
