I have 3 hunchbacks almost elited out. I find no mather what build i use i get to play against moslty
heavie and assault ac20/ppc boats. Since those mechs have mostly equalent top speed as my hunchbacks
i find it hard to play couse:
-Medium is almost the same size as heavie mech (hit boxes also).
-To have decent firepower you must have std200 engine (top speed 71kph)
-Medium and heavies have much more armor and are capable to run as fast as mediums
and tonage allows them to equip stack of ac20/ppc weapons.
-I think heavies and assault have almost the same traverse speed for torso as mediums.
If i use sto200 engine i can put decent weapons on my mech, I have chance to destroy heavies or assaults in shorter period
of time (if i can survive that long) but for them all it takes one alpha to completley destroy my armor and another alpha
to completley destroy my mech. At 71kph i cant elude boats or outrun them to efficiently use ground cower since their
speed is almost the same.
If i use sto260 engine i can put maybe 4 pulse/medium lasers on my mech anything else is heat unefficient. While runing
top speed of 92kph i have chance to escape boats all together but unable to kill or seriously damage anyone.
Now i ask myself how the hell am i going to compete against anyone in those conditions. The MM consider me as a worthy opponent
or equalent to ac20/ppc boats that 2 hit kill me and i cant even elude their alphas half as good as lights can. Not to mention
due to sto260 engine mediums suffer in tonage shortage. Medium lasers are obvious choice. With ML you cant fight long range and
in close range combat you get killed even before you get your weapons hot
