You can probably discount each and every Quadrupedal mechs, because, honestly, I really doubt PGI will bother putting any effort into making them. Not many people like them, unfortunately, i'm not one of them. Sadly, my favorite mech is of this time period, but a quad... It's also unseen, so... Yeah.

You can also discount melee centric mechs like the Axman or Scarabus. Oh, and the LAMs Land-Air mechs will most definitely NOT be in the game.

They said that we would get the melee mechs if they do a solais expansion. As for quads they also said it would never happen becaus of the reasons you stated and the programing involved.
