Firstly can i say, as a new player, WHERE THE HELL DO I GO TO POST ABOUT BUGS?!
the forum layout atm is TERRIBLE!
i posted here because it seems to be where people decided GD went


ok now on to the topic, so i just played a match where i was in my HBK-4SP, running LRMs because im new and wanted to try LRMs before i went and bought a Catapult other then the K2
and so its Rivercity night, and we are going upper, i see and enemy so i lock and fire, get off 1 volley of 2 LRM15s and then pop, i just explode, i took a pulse laser shot about 2 seconds before i exploded but that was it.

i have no idea what happen, no warning, no damage (other then mild long range damage from the pulse laser.
anyone got any idea what happened?

(also i am aware it was more then 30 seconds in the fight, but that time starts before for i fully load in to the game, so it was probably about 40 - 60 seconds in the game, but it felt like 30.

also someone else on my team seemed to think this happened to someone else as well (also on my team, who instantly DCed after)

considering i was surrounded by ally mechs on a part where ive walked 100 times before i doubt that, im not that much of a noob

sounds like u got Alpha'd by a PPC boat, it's happened to me a coulpe of times, no warning just dead.

i was behind a building and an ally mech, not the mention its not in the damage report at all

If that were the case, the screenshot would show no armor.

This looks like an Out of Bounds bug. Server may have thought he was out of bounds, even if he wasn't.

that could be it, maybe, but wouldn't i get a warning, if the server thought i was out of bounds?

If you have packet loss and/or jitter in your connection, it would probably manifest itself like this.

However, the paperdoll doesn't even half explain how you died.

Last I recall, OOB has its own special death message.

As the screenshot says that you destroyed yourself 'Destroyed by Set Tesh', I'd suggest either
- out of bounds (apparently not as you stated you were in a bunch with other people)
- cooking your mech (maybe not, but did you override shutdown and fired some hot alpha strike?)

lol no i had fired two LRM 15s even with the lowest amount of double heat syncs im allowed i doubt that would overheat me, and even then, i would have to override it which would have been an explanation to me, but i didnt do any of that, so im here lol

You may have run into a block defect on your engine. There have been some reports that defects were happening for about a week in an engine plant. Maybe you got one made from that run?

Check your receipt and see if they will exchange it for a new one.

No clue how this happened. I agree that 2 LRM 15s with DHS wouldn't overheat you with only 1 shot. Has to be some kind of out of bounds bug i guess. Strange considering you were with friendlies when you died. Or your targeting comp though you were a better target so it cooked your insides for you?

so i just managed to get a testing grounds on river city (after like 30 tries >.<)
and stood in the exact spot i died, no warning, and no out of bounds death after sitting there firing my weapons, so that's not it


anyways im off to sleep now but il send a support ticket about this and check back in the morning.

This. When it says that you got destroyed by yourself, it's a dead giveaway that you were doing simething you shouldn't have been doing. Given that you are saying that you were not overriding shutdown, my money is on walking out of bounds.

My money would be on an LRM bug, where it somehow fired inside of you and trashed your ct. That sounds pretty funky though, so I don't know if that can even happen.

Well, as buggy as this game is, I think that is a pretty rare one. I would be surprised if you ever see it again, so at least draw comfort in that.

20 seconds into a game last night I saw a message that one of my team mates had killed himself. I assumed he was dicking around and overheated himself or walked off the map but now I am not so sure.
