Feature request: Compensation for Player Disconnect/Quit at start

Description: When a player disconnect/quit within the first 20 seconds of a game, grant all players remaining in the game bonuses to compensate.

Suggested compensations:
  • - Increase firepower multiplier.
  • - Increase defense multiplier.
  • - Increase xp/gxp gain.
  • - Increase speed, movement/locktime.
  • - Compensation adjustment dependent on tonnage of mech missing.
  • - Compensation adjustment dependent on win/loss ratio of mech missing.
  • - Compensation adjustment dependent on kill count of mech missing.
  • - Provide specific bonuses for players to choose. (sniper might want longer weapon range, brawler may want more armor...etc.,.)

Your topic is really poorly worded, but I agree with the concept.

I'm definitely for some form of XP/CBill increase win or lose for that team with the disconn, but increasing damage or armor just doesn't fit the universe.

This game is gamey enough without powerups.

I get where he is coming from. It's amazing how much that single person seems to impact a game.

You also see it when someone decides to "scout" right into the middle of the opposing team and dies while outputting 20 damage.

In the end I think the fix is to allow reconnects.

Why not just have it so the first person to die takes over the DC's mech?

so the four of us are online waiting to drop........Tom does not really feel like playing anyways...Click launch...Hey Tom you mind killing your connection again so we can get another "Power Pill" , thanks bud maybe you will play in a lil while. Or even easier yet I group up with my lap top alt account click launch then just shut off my lap top. Sure it would work out great, but sadly it would prob. encourage disconnects more than benefit the ones who have to deal with it now.

Sounds easily exploitable.
