Yes, that would be cool, but I also want an aurora borealis to add more effects!

It would be interesting to see how the icing effects would look on the crashed aircraft; I can see it sparking in the starlight.

i would look to have icing that occurs at night on the map that's actually slippery! Just think, a spider runs a long, hits a patch of ice, hits is breaks, and doesn't stop; just keeps on sliding.

I vote for visible stars with lighting determined by a variable Aurora Tourmalinis upper atmospheric light show.

Ohhhhh lightning would be a cool element: briefly illuminates the scene (or blinds you if using nightvision).

also had a thought, wouldn't it be cool to have a meteor shower come in around, say, 5 min? If it's a major one, maybe it slightly lights up the place.

I would like to see a dynamik change from daylight to night becoming colder or vise versa in a battle.

There needs to be sand storms that if you stand in it your mech takes damage from high winds in terms its sand blasting your mech also depending on the strength of the wind it can shake some mechs around possibly even tossing lights around like toys. Watch a couple videos where dust devils and light twisters can lift cars off the ground for a few moment as it travels on by.

Also the night mode in TD needs to be very cold cause real life deserts get in the negatives at night while cook in the day. I would like TD night it would be awesome.

better idea on that note, there' s no damage to external armor, but exposed internal armor does take damage, just like exposed internal armor is more vulnerable to machine guns.

the biggest problem I see is the planet that tourmaline is on has zero surface water. and for good reason too, the place is rediculously hot and there are veins of liquid sodium in the crust of the planet.

supposing then that there is no surface water, i guess i go back to the idea of having meteor showers at night. Is this planet close to any other planets or moons? Maybe the night version of this map starts out at dusk, then goes to night, the stars appear, the meteor showers begin, and a giant moon or nearby planet appears in the sky.

All of this is about to become possible with Direct X 11 integration. It will allow for much better shading and other visual effects to be introduced over time. Remember that the developers will need to incorporate new code, this will take time but the wait will be worth while.

Like the idea of meteor showers maybe even the odd comet.

It would be interesting, it could even be a random game changer if it was to hit or cause significant damage to a key Mech. This idea pays homage to the early arcade games from the 1980's where random events were introduced. Interestingly the idea continued and can be seen in some of the city builders such as Caesar IV where 'The Gods' often got upset and caused harvests to fail or buildings to catch fire.

Still Comets are cool.

a map that starts out really hot and turns really cold the second half would indeed be interesting.
