Do you realise there's a big chance you're talking about a person that is probably no longer with us?

There are two main culprits in the Carebearitization of games. Misguided "everyone should be equal" kind of people that think that anyone that plays the game should have an equal chance to "win".

I imagine most people just want viable platforms that allow the pilots degree of skill to equal the chance of winning or at least to be variable of it that counts towards it. If the game company won't/can't do that then should just have the balls to remove all the largely pointless mechs and weapons and advertise the game officially as sniperwarrior online, poptard online, splatcat onl...and so on.

That way everyone knows where they stand and can leave for a game that they'll enjoy rather than **** away valuable time.

Non-sniper builds are viable. The dual AC-20 Jager is quite common, the CN9-A is still not an uncommon site... and nothing prevents anyone from taking any particular build. There are enough of the so called cheese builds to encompass practically every chassis in the game, and every style of weapon loadout. I am not sure what people are wanting to take that they feel they can't compete with, and at that point why are they so bent on taking a non-viable build?

There is little to no skill involved in MW:O poptarting.

I bought a highlander, and immediately started unintentionally doing it with no problems.

And keep in mind, I suck.

Is this in reference to me? I don't own any sniper - poptarts. My main competitive mech right now is the CN9-A.

First off whoever made up the term Poptart should be banned from the game. It is a very viable tactic using jump jets I have no idea why people are crying over this.

It is pretty freaking easy to hit the huge highlander in mid air btw, or maybe your just bad?

JUMP JETTING is a very viable and accepted tactic, enough with the stupid poptart comments.

And to the people who want to take SKILL out of the game. Please go back to table top immediately, seriously GTFrackO.

DO you know why mech table top rolls dice and is random? Because it is TABLE TOP. You can't very well sight someones CT in and shoot a laser now can you ?

This game does not need fixing of the jump jets or some kind of STUPID A@# idea about when you shoot it is random where you hit or it does damage in a cone,NOOOOOooooooo, please leave and never come back whoever wants that.

Yes, I play table top and yes I have 100's of mech models, yes rolling dice is fun.

No, rolling dice is not fun online in an action game.

If I put my cross hair on YOUR LEFT EYEBALL (looking at you Atlas) I want to hit his left eyeball. Don't tell me with all these technologies in the future these weapons are so much more inaccurate then our current weapons of today.

If you want to talk about balancing issues fine, but to INTENTIONALLY take skill out of the game, and calling mechs with jump jetts "poptarts" is beyond insane.

For all the crybaby whiners out there, I have a perfect game for you coming out soon
it is called Mechwarrior Tactics and is more of a representation of table top.

https://mwtactics.com/

Oh btw I don't use jump jets on a single mech, but I sure love blasting them when they jump in the air exposing themselves from behind their perfect cover.

Here is some advice,

1. Get better.
2. Stop crying
3. This is an action game, not a freaking RPG where we roll the dice and wait to see where it hits, or how much damage we did, go back to wow please.
4. Stop making up names like pop tarting which really shows the ignorance of your mech knowledge. Been playing mech for 30 years and now this stupid term is introduced.

About me if your wondering, so this isn't coming out of nowhere. Was star commander of Clan Diamond Shark we won the ADL league, and came in second in NBT. I was the ONLY member of CDS, to earn a blood name in mech 4 (the test was really a bit too hard).

Good day mechwarriors and good hunting "SQUAWK"

That's cause whining is the most OP thing in these forums. Seriously a Gauss 2ERPPC or a 2Gauss Cataphract has an unfair advantage against s 6 PPPC Stalker or a 2 AC20 Jaeger ? No, they are just different ways to play this game. Cripple, or take any of them out of the game and the game will be poorer for it.

Exactly this. The hilariously stupid and boring metagame we have right now where everyone has a ppc or is in a light mech is the worst this game has ever been. Grinding exp takes fracking forever losing so often in pugs. The only time I ever win and not have to use ****** ppc's is during practice nights with my MercGroup. Relying on pugs to do anything but spam ppc's won't ever happen, because PGI dropped the ball yet again. For a small dev team, they sure do make the biggest mistakes.

So the counter to cheese is more cheese. No thanks.

I hate to tell you this, but the only reason this game exists is because people like BT and are willing to spend money on it. "vets" have money; children do not. It is, therefore, perfectly understandable that a lot of the "vets" who are pretty much paying for this game are upset that it is being directed more and more at the children.

This is just ridiculous. The game is not poorer for the removal of OP cheese; it is enhanced because other ways of playing become viable again.

What, brawl brawl brawl is the only way to play the game ? The definition of cheese seems to be 'what the whiner does not like' deep sigh. I think 2xAC20 Jaeger is lame just like I thought Splatcats were lame, but I'd defend their right to exist with my last Gauss round. As for 'game poorer for it' LRMS were effectively removed from the game due to whining, and the game is much poorer for it.

same thing just different ways of doing it.
Poptarting is part of the game but it's too easy.

I am a long time BT player... and I wouldn't say they are gearing this game anywhere but toward people that like BT.

If they nerf all the current "cheese" builds, and what ever you drive becomes the most viable, then you will be driving the cheese.

Many of my builds are simple ML + SRM or SSRM builds and they are doing just fine.

By the way -

I used to play MW3 on MSZone, which is where I initially saw/heard the term 'poptart', in reference to the Gauss-equipped Shadowcats that would snipe and run.

So OP must be the most oblivious Il-Khan (or whatever) in existence.
