I know this isn't probably going to be a super high priority for development, but I'd really like to see first person death cameras in this game. When you die, instead of swapping the view to the exterior of the mech, you just keep seeing what you normally would from the cockpit, with the exception that your battlemech is falling over and dying.

There have been quite a few games that keep the first person perspective as you die, but in few of them would it be as appropriate as it would be in MWO. This is a sim game after all, and there is plenty of time to appreciate the lovingly crafted ragdolls as your teammates peek over the ridge only to get blasted away by PPCs. So give me a first person view on my death, please!

I would like this as well, even better if you get a nice ejection animation like in the original trailer and see your mech collapse below you as you zoom into the air.

I can imagine why they wouldn't keep you in the cockpit though, as most likely it'd be pretty ugly when you face plant if there's any chance of clipping through the floor. I suppose if you die from a headshot you should see a different perspective than if you were able to eject.

I'd love for this to be an option. I can understand making it disabled by default. The 3rd person camera instantly shows you that you're dead (rather than the controls not responding for some other reason) without any additional effects or animations, and it looks cool.

If I were king it'd default to staying in first person always, and when you die you'd have displays going blank or shorting out and spraying sparks, that synthesized voice would let out a keening death wail, and your windshield would crack if it was directly hit by the attack or the ground. I like what permanent first person does to the immersiveness of games like Half-Life and Dishonored.

Only if they add some new HUD stuff. Watching your mech tumble down a hill in first person is just kind of silly. Add something like

>>> CORE BREACH EJECT <<<

EJECT!

in the MW5 trailer or something along those lines would make it pretty cool instead.

You could take it a step further to have your HUD start failing and sparking before you even die, pressure lines burst and you have mist spraying all over. Windows can crack from head shots. This game needs more intensity.
