Obviously we are on a budget. It's a free game, what do you expect?

hmm, lets say i am the one who tries to sell consumable buffs to my gaming customers. I would make em as big and loud es i'd advertise them. As i said, beside damage balancing, just visual every artillery strike and every air attack would be an event, every single player on the entire map would know there's something incoming, bitchin' betty wouldn't stop announcing and the whole screen would be shaking with explosions and damn loud bangs und booms and fireworks and cake.

That's what i expect. It does no damage? fine. Then make it a tactical gimmick that everyone is distracted so i can shoot them. So much possibilities (ECM drop consumable anyone?).

I love this, if not dangerous, make it flashy and awsome so that people fire em off for ***** and giggles.

I've never been able to catch a picture of the fighter in flight, but in a different thread someone said that this was the model from the game files:

That looks a whole lot like a Lightning, though that's an aircraft that seems mostly unsuited to bombing runs.

Okies. rant over. I suppose I'm going to just be grateful I even have one stompy robot game... grr.

I guess this is all MWO boils down to, "One stompy robot game."

Its sad because Battletech/Mechwarrior wasnt about robots. There were actually very few robots in the universe, aside from the major assembly lines where they were still in use, not to indifferent from todays car manufacturing plants. But I guess todays generation doesnt know the difference between a robot and a battlemech, or even an Agromech for that matter.

I think the worst thing about it is, I still havent found a reason to log into the game in almost 4 months.

Well shucks, I'd rather have an Aerospace Lightning shoot at me with lasers and autocannons. Speaking of which, I think it would be way more interesting if they made different TYPES of aerospace fighters to call on for support like a Lightning that shoots lasers, a Strategic Torrent Bomber that does drop lots of bombs, or LRM carrying Chippewa's or Shilone's.

Absolutely - that'd be very interesting. Having fighter support using normal weapons would also help bypass the current issue of negligable damage too.

Since you can pay MC to obtain these items, the moment they become "useful" the P2W kiddies will be out in droves, whining their whines about P2W, and it all goes south from there.

I agree 100% about the current underwhelming effects but I will say I have never actually dropped an Airstrike inside of 800m+. In order to have a planet shattering, Betty Bitchin' moment from that far out, those in close proximity made need to be assigned diapers. When a friendly gets behind you and looses a AC20 round, I have come close to requiring fresh drawers. LOL! :)

Beef up the BOOM, or at least create a cloud of dust 5 times as big as a full JJ burn does, and then let it blow on the wind and maybe obscuring the targets friends as well. :)

P2W isn't an issue, i can call the same strikes with 40k cbills...man payin for a consumable would be really... I have no words in this language for it.

But pgi need to make it viable or at least visual overwhelming, i mean they want to get money with it. I see more Narc than this crap of consumables... C'mon pgi

Blues - Terrain avoiding hyper range ppc's.
Reds - Hitz Box Shrinker shrinks the size of yur hit boxes for 180 seconds.
Yellows - Super ECM shield, complete protection for ballistic, laser, particle and missle weapons for 345 seconds.
Purples - Instaport teleport to any given point on the map single use only.
Gold - Temporal Displacer thier hits will register but the actual damage is shunted thru time until the next patch.
Greens - Neverheat continous alpha strikes for 285 seconds.

I want a big ole areospace fighter flying in low for a strafing run, with clouds of dust and snow whipped up in its wake. And I want to be able to shoot at it as it comes in. Then if it survives its strafing run, I can call it again after a 60 second timer, until it is destroyed.
